What You'll Be Doing:

Uses ADP Workforce Now to create/modify/run reports through Custom Reporting feature. </li>
<li>Performs month-end closing procedures as needed. Maintains/reconciles activity for certain GL accounts each month. Maintains GL details for customers with prepayments and reconciles to the ledger. </li>
<li>Prepares, audits various reports, sorts, distributes, files and maintains correspondence and records. Maintains integrity of files and filing systems to insure easy access to necessary information, may work with some confidential information. Files and types various accounting documents and correspondence as necessary. Checks/balances various reports and information.</li>
<li>Prepares annual lease schedule for year-end audit.</li>

Train the other BHT's to follow company protocol. Manage the BHT's, administrative tasks, administering care to clients, ensuring the facility runs on time for all appointments, groups, and activities. Leading and training the other BHT's. Other duties include: computer work, facility maintenance management, vehicle maintenance management, doctor follow ups, intakes, discharges, group notes documentation, group facilitation, inventory tracking, transportation and more.

DEPARTMENT: Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (Kroc Center Hawaii)

CLASSIFICATION: Part Time, On Call, Hourly Pay Range $14.00 - $28.00

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Group Fitness Instructor provides group fitness instructions, monitors, educates participants on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.
The Group Fitness Instructor will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.
REQUIREMENTS:

<li>High school graduate or GED.</li>
<li>One year’s experience in group fitness instructions and program management.</li>
<li>Must be at least 18 years of age.</li>
<li>Certified Instructor (ACE, AFAA) or equivalent.</li>
<li>Current CPR and AED course completion card (may be acquired after employment)</li>
<li>On an annual basis, employees are required to participate in The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety .</li>
</ul>
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.
PREFERENCES:
Bachelor’s degree in a fitness related field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul>
<li>Explain and enforce safety rules. Educate participants concerning safe exercise techniques and constantly monitoring safety.</li>
<li>Provide a fun and safe workout through one or more specialty group exercise classes. Offer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.</li>
</ul>

<li>Responsible for following up with proper class participation reporting procedures.</li>
<li>Ensure payments are made for classes requiring payments.</li>
<li>Responsible for proper reporting unsafe studio conditions to management.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Greet, introduce and welcome participants. Acquaint new participants with class procedures. Deliver the class in a fun and interesting manner. Stay after class to answer questions and interact.</li>
<li>Teach scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provide adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down.</li>
<li>Provide management with appropriate records concerning participation, member information, etc.</li>
<li>Monitor proper form and technique using positive reinforcement. Instruct clients on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific areas.</li>
<li>Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion. Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels in order to maximize benefits from exercise routines.</li>
<li>Assists clients, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants.</li>
<li>Ensure coverage of all group fitness classes and obtain substitutes as needed.</li>

<li>Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.</li>
<li>Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.</li>
<li>Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.</li>
</ul>

The position requires to maintain a positive and upbeat attitude in order to provide excellent customer service, appreciation for individual uniqueness and diversity. Must be able to work with individuals with special limitations or needs and provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for all participants.
The work will be in a fast paced environment. Requires strong organizational skills, able to multi task, detail oriented and able to take projects from beginning through completion. The position must maintain poise under pressure, respond to crisis situations in a calm and effective manner, and remain calm when resolving problems using good judgment. This position must maintain a self-motivated and self- directed schedule, able to work with limited supervision, and in a team setting with other professionals. This position must possess the self-discipline necessary to perform repetitive tasks without lowering quality of work, exercise good judgment and be comfortable taking initiative with projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position requires a high degree of energy, person must be physically fit and have the endurance to complete the workout. The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds and occasionally more than 25 pounds with assistance. This employee may also be required to work weekends and evenings.
COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:
The position requires talking to co-workers, clients, vendors; requires written communication to and from co-workers, clients, vendor; talking on the telephone; requires responding to written or verbal requests of co-workers, clients, and vendors; requires training/giving verbal and written instructions; requires receiving verbal and written instructions; requires writing/composing written language; requires reading; requires visiting/working at other worksites; requires communication via the latest technologies.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, regularly exposed moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment is occasionally loud. Extended workdays are a frequent occurrence, as are weekends and holidays as needed to support the business.
Most work will be outdoors in the Kroc Center Hawaii Aquatic Center as well as other Kroc Center Hawaii facilities and offices. Attendance at trainings and conferences may be required.
EQUIPMENT NEEDS:
Cardio and strength training equipment may be needed.
CERTIFICATES &amp; LICENSES
Current CPR and AED certificates may be acquired after employment.
ACSM Health Fitness Instructor and/or primary group fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, NETA).
Valid driver’s license and insured transportation.
