<li>Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed</li>
<li>Assist with the initial training period of new drivers</li>
<li>Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers</li>
<li>Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle</li>
<li>Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages</li>
<li>Collect payments for certain packages delivered</li>
<li>Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers</li>
<li>Notify management of any problems or discrepancies</li>
<li>Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle</li>
<li>Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments</li>
<li>Travel may be required</li>
<li>Perform other required duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Skills and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn</li>
<li>Must possess good customer service and organizational skills</li>
<li>Must have leadership skills and the ability to make quick decisions</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience
<ul>
<li>At least 21 years of age</li>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li>
<li>Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements
<ul>
<li>Ability to pass a DOT physical exam</li>
<li>Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle</li>
<li>Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds</li>
<li>Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals</li>
