We are seeking an experienced supervisor to lead a dynamic team of machinists in a dynamic manufacturing environment. **Your Day to Day as a Machine Shop Front Line Manager **

Required Qualifications:

Pay: $66,000 - $101,000
The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $66,000 and $101,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Champion Laboratories is hiring a MANUFACTURING ENGINEER to work on site at our plant located in Albion, IL.
The MANUFACTURING ENGINEER will assist by:
Principal Activities:
The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, who reports to the Director of Manufacturing Services. The incumbent evaluates and/or proposes areas for improvement in manufacturing processes.

Design equipment and processes to manufacture products in the most cost-effective manner.
</li>
<li>
Estimate project budgets and schedules accurately to ensure timely completion.
</li>
<li>
Provide technical assistance to other service and manufacturing departments within the company to support improvements and/or resolve issues with existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
</li>
<li>
Determine the practicality and cost-effectiveness of installing or modifying machinery and/or processes.
</li>
<li>
Collaborate with equipment suppliers, Product Engineering, and various manufacturing and service departments throughout the completion of a project.
</li>
</ul>
Preferred Requirements:
<ul>
<li>
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
</li>
<li>
1–3 years of experience in an engineering-related field.
</li>
<li>
Good working knowledge of machinery components and their functions.
</li>
<li>
General knowledge of PLC programming and logic circuits.
</li>
<li>
Strong mathematical background.
</li>
<li>
Proficiency in AutoCAD drawings.
</li>
<li>
Knowledge of machining principles and methods.
</li>
<li>
Drafting/sketching ability.
</li>
<li>
Strong project management skills.
</li>

Should have some or all of the following:

<li>BS Engineering</li>
<li>Extrusion experience or experience with hydraulic presses and metal forming equipment.</li>
<li>New Product Introduction</li>
<li>AQP (Advance Qualification Program)</li>
<li>Manufacturing maintenance support</li>
<li>Design or manage the design of new machines and tooling</li>
<li>Working with R&amp;D teams and outside vendors</li>
<li>FMEA's / Flow diagrams / Operator instructions</li>
<li>Special note: Must be willing to relocate to Clarksville, Tennessee.</li>

Duties:
Applies appropriate engineering and manufacturing technology to develop / improve existing processes in the area of quality, productivity, and cost reduction. The engineer serves as a value stream leader, project leader on major plant expenditures, new equipment purchases and process improvements within the company.
<ul>
<li>Applies basic engineering principles and analyses to improve processes or solve manufacturing problems by reducing cost, improving quality, and/or capability.</li>
<li>Designs manufacturing processes that meet customer product, delivery, and cost requirements. Designs or manages the design of new machines and tooling. Manages or participates as a key AQP Team Member in the concept to delivery cycle -- Design, analyze, budget, prototypes and samples, purchase and build equipment, machine acceptance, train, implement and improve.</li>
<li>Identifies, establishes, and manages development programs that bring new ideas and technologies to practical application in production. This will include working with members of our R &amp; D team as well as with outside organizations.</li>
