Join a dynamic team as a Controls Engineer specializing in the machining of brake drums, rotors, steering knuckles, and carriers for a leading automotive manufacturer. Located in Tell City, IN, this is a fully onsite position within the Kaizen Engineering department. The role involves troubleshooting and developing control programs, assisting with robot implementation, diagnosing issues, and improving manufacturing processes, especially related to CNC equipment. The position reports directly to the Kaizen Engineering Manager, and operates on a typical 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Assist and implement PLC programs using Omron, Mitsubishi, and Allen-Bradley systems.</li>
<li>Manage plant-wide vision systems with Keyence.</li>
<li>Assist and lead HMI development for new production lines.</li>
<li>Lead technicians and external contractors during new line installations.</li>
<li>Collaborate with robot technicians for support, particularly on the paint line and material handling.</li>
<li>Work cross-functionally with production engineering for new line implementations and modifications.</li>
<li>Recommend process improvements.</li>
<li>Assist in diagnosing and minor programming tasks with CNC equipment.</li>

Essential Skills
<ul>
<li>Technical associate's degree in Advanced Automation, Mechatronics, EET, or MET.</li>
<li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in controls engineering.</li>
<li>Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting with Allen-Bradley, Omron, or Mitsubishi systems.</li>
<li>Experience with vision systems, specifically Keyence.</li>
<li>Knowledge of CNC, Fanuc, and robotics automation.</li>
<li>Skills in HMI programming and development.</li>

<li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering (EET, MET, EE) is a plus.</li>

Work Environment
Work in an air-conditioned manufacturing environment with a flexible schedule typically from 6AM to 3PM, Monday through Friday. Some employees choose to work from 7AM to 4PM or 8AM to 5PM. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
<ul>
<li>Operates a motor vehicle in the provision of public transit services in compliance with all applicable DOT, federal, state, local, and system regulations and policies and ensures the safe and timely transportation of all passengers.</li>
<li>Assists passengers as needed in the boarding and disembarking of the vehicle in order to ensure the safety of all passengers, including assistance during vehicle evacuation, as necessary.</li>
<li>Boards and disembarks passengers, including those using common wheelchairs or other mobility devices, requiring the use of lift equipment and securement systems according to the system’s policies and procedures in order to ensure the safety of all passengers.</li>
<li>Completes daily paperwork using pen or pencil, as required, to ensure accurate reporting and records, including documentation of attendance of persons transported, daily log sheets, daily mileage, gas purchases, daily Medicaid Trip Forms and maintenance forms.</li>
<li>Completes daily pre-trip inspection using the required inspection checklist to ensure the proper and safe functioning of the vehicle, including all fluid levels, lights, tires, and mechanical parts prior to the start of the route.</li>
<li>Regularly inventories vehicle equipment and supplies; reports restocking needs in accordance with the system’s established procedure in order to maintain a safe, functional vehicle.</li>
<li>Fuels the vehicle; ensures that all vehicle systems are properly shut down; visually inspects the interior for any items left by passengers; locks the vehicle to maintain security.</li>
<li>Regularly cleans interior of vehicle to maintain a sanitary environment for passengers and the safe operation of the vehicle.</li>
</ul>
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>Submit to random drug/alcohol testing as required by Transportation Director the DOT Drug Testing Program.</li>
<li>Immediately report any mechanical difficulties to the Transportation Director or local support staff.</li>
<li>Communicate to the Transportation Director immediately all delays in transporting persons, either departing or arriving.</li>
<li>Alert the Transportation Director when client behaviors impact the safety of other riders.</li>
<li>Attend all required SIRS trainings as directed by the Transportation Director.</li>
<li>Must possess and maintain a good driving record meeting or exceed system’s established driver eligibility standards.</li>
</ul>
