This role is a transitional, entry-level position designed to train the trainee on the necessary skills required to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A). Candidates hired into this position are required to take and pass the C.N.A Training Class and state mandated test in order to earn their C.N.A Certification. Once classes have been successfully completed, employee may begin working as a nursing aide until certification is obtained.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Skillfully and safely, perform all activities required to successfully pass the C.N.A certification in order to transition into the C.N.A role.
· Must remain in good standing with training program. Failure to remain in good standing for any reason may result in termination at the discretion of the training program leaders.
· Read and follow resident’s care card. Care plan includes residents daily personal care needs, treatments and therapies. Engage nurse with any questions related to care plan.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Ophthalmic Scribe / Technicians use ophthalmic techniques to perform preliminary work-up of patients in a clinic setting, scribes for Physicians and may also directly assist Physician(s) with examinations and treatment of patients.
 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Functions as Scribe which requires knowledge and understanding of retina-specific ophthalmology terminology.</li>
<li>Requires proficient keyboarding skills, use of electronic medical record and image management system.</li>
<li>Utilize electronic mail and other instant messaging systems.</li>
<li>Skilled in ophthalmic terminology, ability to type words accurately with speed and knowledge of ARC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.</li>
<li>Prepares patients and rooms for treatments and minor procedures as directed by the Physician.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain patient's past and current medical and ophthalmic history including information regarding medications, allergies and family history of eye problems.</li>
<li>Identifies any potential patient concerns and brings these issues to the attention of the Office Coordinator or physician as appropriate.</li>
<li>Ability to measure and record both distance and near visual acuity and pinhole acuity; performs preliminary refraction using objective equipment.</li>
<li>Ability to measure intraocular pressures by applanation tonometry, pneumatonometry and/or use of tonopen, checks pupillary response to light and pupillary defects (will be trained)</li>
<li>Performs basic visual field testing and patient education as directed by Physician.</li>
<li>Prepares patients for treatments and minor procedures; measures and records vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate) as required.</li>
<li>Successfully completes and maintains scribe certification. Upon certification, completes appropriate computerized orderentry under the direction of the Physician per regulatory and professional guidelines.</li>
<li>Instills eye drops as directed by the physician. Assists in the application of dressings, shields and eye patches.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of examination and procedure codes (ICD-9 codes) when inputting into the Electronic Medical Records system.</li>
<li>Ensures that accurate procedure coding/charges for all procedures/drugs for all patients and correct diagnosis codes are used.</li>
<li>Keeps examination, treatment, laser and any other assigned rooms cleaned and stocked with supplies, keeps drug count up to date.</li>
<li>Provides consistent, excellent customer service.</li>
<li>May consent patient for treatment and procedures.</li>
<li>Performs OCT on patients with speed and accuracy and assists physician with treatments when needed.</li>
<li>Assists with patient transfers as necessary.</li>
<li>Travel to other locations as assigned.</li>
<li>Responsibilities may be dependent on specific location and not required of all employees in that position.</li>
<li>Performs all other duties as assigned, which may include assisting in other departments within Associated Retinal Consultants and at other locations.</li>
<li>Duties assigned may include clerical functions such as filing, key boarding, scheduling patients, cleaning, stocking or other tasks as needed.</li>

<li>High School Diploma or higher.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and expert keyboard (Scribe) skills.</li>
<li>Ability to understand and correctly spell medical terminology and numbers as percentages; analytical and problem solving skills.</li>

<li>Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others (teamwork) and provide superior customer service to patients. </li>

Job Description
The Float BCBA provides high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with autism across multiple locations. In collaboration with the Clinic Director, the Float BCBA supports effective clinical operations, including conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, supervising clinical staff, coaching caregivers, and ensuring high-quality, ethical service delivery. The Float BCBA also plays an important role in supporting teammates remotely, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring client progress toward meaningful goals. 
This role follows a hybrid service delivery model, with a portion of clinical responsibilities completed via telehealth. At a minimum, float BCBAs are expected to be physically present in the clinic they are supporting for at least four days per month. However, the actual number of in-clinic days will vary based on your float assignment and may include a fully in-person schedule at assigned clinics, client homes, or community locations, depending on proximity and float assignment needs. 
Essential Functions:

<li>Independently conducts assessments of clients using appropriate protocols and procedures, probing skills listed on adaptive, developmental and functional behavior assessments via direct observation and data collection. Scores and Interprets assessments, discussing findings with stakeholders. </li>

<li>Independently conducts treatment plans including analysis of assessment data, program design, and development, writing plan goals, and determining needed supports and submit by due date. </li>
</ol>

<li>Provide clinical recommendations regarding treatment intensity, modality, and transition/ exit planning, in collaboration with parents and other stake holders, with the emphasis on delivering developmentally appropriate and socially significant client outcomes </li>

<li>Evaluate and modify treatment based on the Caravel Quality of Effective Treatment (QET) measure, completing these measurements as assigned. </li>

<li>Ensures that indicators of assent and withdrawal of assent are noticed, honored, and measured. Implement programming to promote assent and communication skills to express assent and assent withdrawal. </li>

<li>Uses clinical observation and highest-level technology (PathTap)consistentlyto ensure effective and efficient data-based decision making, all shown through daily reporting to Clinic Director and CCOE as appropriate. </li>

<li>Mentor BCBAs in alignment with established CCOE and Caravel guidelines to ensure consistency for all mentees. </li>

<li>May assist in networking and marketing the organization externally to influence clinic growth and success. Coordinates, promotes, and attends community events within the surrounding communities. </li>

Travel Required: Must travel to assigned clinics, client homes, or community locations at least four days per month. Additional travel may be required depending on caseload or organizational needs. Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required.
The in-person service expectations for the Float BCBA are determined based on the distance from the BCBA’s primary residence to the assigned service area. If the Float BCBA lives less than 30 miles from the location they are supporting, they are expected to provide in-person services a minimum of three days per week for the duration of the assignment. For Float BCBAs providing services at clinics more than 30 miles from their primary residence, they are expected to provide in-person services a minimum of four days per month, with a recommendation of eight in-person days per month. These visits can be scheduled flexibly, such as one day per week, two days every other week, or one full week per month, depending on clinical needs and scheduling agreements. 
 
Qualifications:
Education:

<li>Master’s degree required </li>
</ul>
Experience:
<ul>
<li>Must be Board Certified Behavior Analyst and or a state-licensed behavior analyst where applicable, and meeting state specific requirements. </li>
<li>A minimum of three years working as a BCBA required. </li>
<li>At least five years of experience utilizing applied behavior analysis and providing behavior services to clients with autism is strongly preferred. </li>
