POSITION SUMMARY:
<ul>
<li>The essential functions of the job for the Medication Technician, requires, and may be amended from time to time at the sole discretion of Viva Senior Living to include, but are not limited to the following:</li>

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
<ul>
<li>Responsible for the accurate and timely distribution and documentation of medication for residents in accordance with each resident’s physician’s orders and applicable regulations.</li>
<li>Assist residents in maintaining their total wellbeing by following the established Plan of Care, providing assistance with activities of daily living, social activities, dietary assistance, and Viva Senior Living’s philosophies.</li>
<li>Supervise and care for residents on daily basis according to residents’ needs</li>
<li>Aid with activities of daily living</li>
<li>Assistance with bathing, shower, and shampoo if necessary</li>
<li>Help with dressing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair and fingernail care if needed</li>
<li>Observe, supervise, and record resident self-administration of prescribed medications</li>
<li>Report refusals and/or reactions to supervisor on duty</li>
<li>Direct residents and family members to appropriate staff for other needs or information</li>
<li>Order meal trays for residents when needed</li>
<li>Report and record observations of changes in residents’ condition to director or supervisor in the daily logbook. Transfer relevant information to the next shift through the shift-to-shift verbal report</li>
<li>Implement personal care plans for each resident</li>
<li>Be patient and understanding in communicating with staff, residents, and visitors. Speak slowly and clearly. Refer families to director or supervisor regarding status of residents when unsure of status</li>
<li>Provide assistance in dining room as needed</li>
<li>Administer medication as directed by supervisor</li>
<li>Answer emergency calls promptly and courteously, complete required paperwork afterward</li>
<li>Retrieve soiled linen and personal clothing from resident living areas. Sort and pre-soak linens as required before processing through washing machines</li>
<li>Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of a resident’s room. Empty waste baskets, wipe up spills, wash dishes, put away clothes, check refrigerator for spoiled food, and make beds, change linens</li>
<li>Check for unsecured throw rugs and extension cords</li>
<li>Observe condition of room/apartment and report anything in need of repair to maintenance</li>
<li>Document clearly and objectively on residents in logbook and on other documents</li>
<li>Participate in in-service educational programs as required by the community and state</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required</li>

The ideal candidate will join our Electrophysiology (EP) team of 3 Electrophysiologists and 3 APCs who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and management, catheter ablations, left atrial appendage procedures, and implantation of loop recorders. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Participate in inpatient and outpatient evaluation of patients with cardiac rhythm problems in conjunction with the electrophysiologist.</li>
<li>Outpatient follow-up and management of patients with various rhythm problems, including initiating and managing antiarrhythmic and anticoagulation therapies, and triage of patients with acute issues, including office evaluation.</li>
<li>Provide pre- and post-procedural care and education for patients undergoing pacemaker or ICD implantation, ablation, LAAO implant, lead extraction, and cardioversion. </li>
<li>Interpret EKGs and device interrogations; assess symptoms and recommend care plans accordingly. </li>
