The START Center for Cancer Research (“START”) is the world’s largest early phase site network, fully dedicated to oncology clinical research. We are hiring an Infusion Nurse for our START New York - Long Island office. The Infusion Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals who are participants in research protocols that are conducted at START. The Infusion Nurse uses appropriate professional judgment and decision-making in planning and providing care. Nursing care is to be delivered in a manner consistent with the Standard Operating Procedures and standards of practice, and professional evidence-based standards.

Essential Responsibilities

<li>Patient Care: Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and investigational agents per protocol; perform venipuncture, IV insertion, central line management, ECG collection, and vital signs monitoring.</li>

About This Opportunity: 
We are looking for a Medical Assistant with excellent patient care skills, great communication, and concierge-level customer service! 
The Role of the Medical Assistant: 
<ul>
<li>Greet and Room patients </li>
<li>Obtain blood &amp; urine samples, measure and record vital signs, and maintain clean exam rooms </li>
<li>Clerical responsibilities </li>
<li>Exhibit good clinical judgment within the scope of the role with or without the provider present </li>
<li>Follow all clinical and clerical protocols per company policy </li>
<li>Other duties as assigned </li>
</ul>
This is a 36 hour work week opportunity with eligible benefits. 
Hours- Mon 9-6, Tue 9-1, Wed/Thu/Fri 8-5

Minimum Qualifications: 
Education: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) plus one of the following: </li>
<li>Medical Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited MA program </li>
<li>Or 1 year relevant work experience or on-the-job training in place of certification or diploma </li>
<li>Military trained medic </li>
<li>Paramedic </li>
</ul>
Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical setting is strongly preferred. </li>
<li>Must possess a current BLS, CPR certification, and current health records with the appropriate documentation for immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis). </li>
</ul>
