SECTION 1: Job Summary
An Optical Technician will achieve a world class Total Patient Experience that both maximizes retail sales while also supporting the patients' medical needs. This team member is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. They connect the patient needs to the goods and services offered. 
SECTION 2: Duties and Responsibilities (Responsibilities necessary to accomplish job functions)

<li>Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support</li>
<li>Determine patient wants and needs and selling to exceed their expectations</li>
<li>Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions</li>
<li>Able to operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer</li>
<li>Educate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit patient needs</li>
<li>Can accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt</li>
<li>Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames</li>
<li>Dispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process</li>
<li>Acknowledge patients in a friendly, approachable way that invites them into the office</li>
<li>Maintain frame standards with cleaning, organization, full and well-presented areas</li>
<li>Follow all protocols to keep Frame inventory accurate</li>

All phlebotomists shall perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of United WestLabs, Inc. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of quality of customer care and satisfaction in a cost effective manner. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this position shall perform phlebotomy on patients. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform phlebotomy professionally, competently and with compassion for the patient.
2. Maintain a safe and clean environment for all staff members and patients, including without limitation, collecting and disposing of specimens and other contaminated material in accordance with established policies and procedures and with adherence to the appropriate standards of infection control and body fluid precautions and protective equipment when necessary.
3. Ensure that requisitions are completed properly, and the patient demographic, diagnosis, insurance and physician information are included on or attached to the requisitions. Diagnostic information shall be in a narrative or ICD-9 code format and valid only if legible.
4. If a patient is a Medicare patient, you must review the National Coverage Decisions (“NCD”) and Local Medical review Policies (“LMRP”) for the tests ordered on the requisition form to determine if an Advance Beneficiary Notice (“ABN”) must be completed. If the form is needed, correctly complete the form with the patient.
5. Ensure that the Medicare Secondary Form (“MSP”) is completed when necessary.
6. Accurately collect all specimens necessary to fulfill the clients’ lab orders.
7. Provide accurate communication to clients and their staff regarding the proper ordering of lab tests.
8. Ensure that draw station where you work is kept clean and adequately stocked with supplies every day.
9. On a daily basis, inform your Operations Supervisor of your job performance issues, concerns and schedule.
10. If you work for UWL and are located within a physician’s office, you are not permitted to do any work for the physician and/or the physician’s medical practice, your sole responsibility is to collect specimens to be sent to a UWL client’s laboratory. 
Additional Responsibilities:
 1. Perform the duties of a courier if called upon. 
2. Deliver supplies when necessary.
3. Obtain any additional information if called upon.
4. Contact Medicare patients to fulfill compliance requirements in regard to MSP forms.

JOB SUMMARY:

<li> This person should provide an excellent experience for patients when collecting blood and other specimens.</li>

<li> Registers Lab patients and enters orders from a variety of sources (electronic, written, faxed, and verbal). </li>
