The team will consider independently Licensed Therapists in the United States for any of the following licenses: Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Social Work

 Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

<li>Licensure &amp; Education: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field, with active and unrestricted licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.); multistate licensure preferred.</li>
<li>Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of post-licensure clinical experience, preferably with telehealth platforms, and proficiency in evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, or trauma-informed care.</li>
<li>Technical Proficiency: Comfort with telemedicine tools, electronic health records (EHR), and basic troubleshooting for seamless virtual sessions.</li>
<li>Communication &amp; Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build rapport, convey empathy, and maintain therapeutic alliances through virtual interactions.</li>
<li>Cultural Competence: Skilled in working with diverse populations and understanding cultural nuances; fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.</li>

Qualifications

<li>A graduate from a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

<li>Exceptions include Health care education in the military service or training in the military service.</li>

<li>Current, active, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a practical or vocational nurse in a State or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia. </li>
<li>Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.</li>
<li>At least six (6) months of applicable experience as evidenced on their resume.</li>
<li>Two (2) letters of reference. </li>
<li>Experience working in a correctional environment is preferred but not required. </li>
<li>You must be able to lift boxes and equipment, and the weight should not exceed 25 pounds.</li>

Summary of Duties: Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse will provide support to the onsite medical team in taking care of both male and female Adults in Custody who are waiting for sentencing, transfer, and/or trial. The Federal Detention Center (FDC) in SeaTac provides a range of medical, dental, and mental health services, including routine and urgent care, chronic condition management, and psychological support. 
Attire
The Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse is expected to wear professional clothing while on duty (scrub uniforms are approved). The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing. Jeans (of any color), T-shirts, tank tops, and sweatpants/shirts are not considered professional attire. Items specifically prohibited include, but are not limited to open-toed shoes and sleeveless, see-through, or skin-tight clothing.
Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff.</li>
<li>Perform nursing duties within the scope of the current licensure.</li>
<li>Administer medications as prescribed, i.e., by mouth, intradermally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly.</li>
<li>Assist with the distribution of medications at the pill line.</li>
<li>Monitor and evaluate the response to therapy.</li>
<li>Perform skin testing.</li>
<li>Perform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens.</li>
<li>Record and document patient care activities on appropriate records, such as health history.</li>
<li>Record diagnostic testing, i.e., venipuncture for laboratory studies, visual acuity testing, EKGs (per instructions from mid-level practitioners or physicians).</li>
<li>Process lab work to include filing daily.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and JACHO policy.</li>
<li>Screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal laboratory values and notify the physician or physicians.</li>
<li>Ensure all sharps are secured, accounted for, stored, and disposed of according to institutional and national policy.</li>
<li>Assist the mid-level practitioners and physicians in the management and oversight of chronic care clinics.</li>
<li>Review clinical records to ensure data is entered legibly and in the appropriate section of the medical record.</li>
<li>Possess knowledge of treatment of chronic health problems, i.e., hypertension, diabetes, and asthma.</li>
<li>Initiate emergency care as needed according to community standards.</li>
<li>Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.</li>
<li>Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Ability and skill to operate EKG and laboratory equipment.</li>
<li>Knowledge of mental health disorders and must have the ability to screen for gross mood changes.</li>
<li>Ability to provide basic first aid, prevention care, and guidance in treating a variety of common illnesses/injuries.</li>
<li>Perform duties as required but accept only those nursing assignments that are commensurate with his/her educational preparation, training, experience, and nursing licensure laws.</li>
<li>May be asked to perform administrative duties as needed based on the needs of the institution.</li>
