We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Assistant to join our team in our Detox and Withdrawal Management Unit. In this role, you will work with a skilled clinical team consisting of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, and Patient Navigators in providing high-quality care to patients, assisting with daily operations, and fostering a safe, therapeutic environment. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, maintaining records, performing rounds, checking vitals, passing medications, and providing emotional support. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for helping others, and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellness.

Summary:
This individual will work closely with the treatment team to ensure patient needs are identified and met appropriately. This individual will ensure the comfort and safety of the patients. This individual will assist in the daily care of the patients in the program. Will also assist in training of clinical assistants and maintaining other needs of the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Complete paperwork related to admissions or discharging patients.</li>
<li>Observe/monitor patients to detect behavior patterns and problems; intervene as necessary to maintain a safe and orderly facility; and report observations to appropriate staff.</li>
<li>Perform vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, etc.) on patient as instructed.</li>
<li>Respond to crises and emergencies as trained and outlined in policy and procedure, including notifying the appropriate supervisor.</li>
<li>Document what happened during a shift, including behaviors or conflicts, in appropriate logs.</li>
<li>Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.</li>
<li>Administer or monitor medications, as trained and certified by the RN Supervisor.</li>
<li>Perform light housekeeping and transportation duties.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Required Experience:
<ul>
<li>Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>Must be 18 years of age or older.</li>
<li>Must have or obtain CPR &amp; First Aid certification before direct patient contact.</li>
<li>Must pass background studies issued by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Experience:
<ul>
<li>Prior experience working in a behavioral health setting.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Prior experience working with individuals with Substance Use Disorders.</li>
</ul>
Hours: This role is designated for 2nd shift, 2:45pm-11:00pm with weekend rotations.

Educational Requirement:
If working in a MN location, must meet one of these three education/experience categories as defined by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy:

<li>Previous experience as a pharmacy technician with maintenance of continuous registration as a pharmacy technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy dating back prior to January 1st, 2013.</li>
<li>Completion of a board-approved technician training program</li>
<li>Completion of the Essentia Health employer-based technician training program within first 90 days of employment</li>
</ul>
OR Continuous registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist Intern
Required Qualifications:

<li>Minimum of 1040 hours of pharmacy technician experience </li>
<li>Completion of Pharmacy Department's Orientation AND one of the following Essentia Pharmacy Department training programs within 6 months of hire:

<li>Core Sterile Compounding Training Program</li>

Core Prescription Billing and Synchronization Training Program
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Before hire, state registration in the state in which they will be working is required. The applicant must to be at least 18 years of age and have graduated from high​ school or attained high school graduation equivalent (e.g. GED) for registration</li>
<li>All float, casual positions and regular staff from sites in the Superior, Wisconsin location require registration in both Minnesota and Wisconsin</li>
<li>All Wisconsin locations: may provide a "pending" application for registration</li>
<li>Earns, through employer-based training program, and maintains Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) within 1 year of hire; OR be currently enrolled as a Pharmacy student in an accredited </li>
<li>Pharm.D. program; OR for North Dakota locations only, progressing toward acceptance into a Doctor of Pharmacy program</li>
<li>NOTE: Any Pharmacy Technician that has a dual position as an Intern or Pre-Intern does not need to have the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) nor the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification.</li>
<li>Must maintain registration(s) (immediately) and certification(s) (post two years of employment) for the duration of employment</li>
<li>Ongoing continuing education and license renewal as required by the state's Board of Pharmacy</li>

Assessment and Documentation

Collaboration and Consultation
