What You’ll Do
As a Special Education Teacher Math, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction while managing all aspects of IEP development and compliance for your caseload. You will:
Instruction &amp; Student Support
<ul>
<li>
Teach math in a self-contained classroom aligned to students’ IEP goals
</li>
<li>
Provide direct Specially Designed Instruction (SAI) in-person or virtually
</li>
<li>
Monitor student progress on IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed
</li>
<li>
Collaborate with general education staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and supports are in place
</li>
</ul>
IEP Development 
<ul>
<li>
Write and manage IEPs, including academic goals, accommodations, and services
</li>
<li>
Conduct academic assessments and draft comprehensive reports
</li>
<li>
Coordinate services with related providers (OT, SLP, etc.)
</li>
<li>
Ensure all IEP documents are accurate, timely, and compliant
</li>
<li>
Schedule and lead IEP meetings; send meeting notices and follow up on attendance
</li>
</ul>
Communication &amp; Collaboration
<ul>
<li>
Maintain regular communication with families, including monthly check-ins
</li>
<li>
Liaise with general education teachers and service providers to track student progress
</li>
<li>
Provide consultation and professional guidance on accommodations and modifications
</li>
</ul>
Documentation &amp; Compliance
<ul>
<li>
Maintain up-to-date service logs, contact logs, and student data
</li>
<li>
Draft and submit Prior Written Notices, Assessment Plans, ITPs, and other required documents
</li>
<li>
Track IEP timelines and ensure timely delivery of all services and reports
</li>
<li>
Submit reports to families and collect all necessary signatures
</li>
</ul>

Required Qualifications

Candidates without a valid license may still be hired but will not be eligible to drive YMCA vehicles until requirements are met. Optional based on specific assignments.</li>
