Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Principal and the Assistant Principal, the Primary Guide plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. They prepare a structured, student-centered, high-fidelity Montessori learning environment conducive to all children's intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. As a public school, our diverse population of students must have equitable access to instruction, social-emotional support, and opportunities for self-development. The Primary Guide plays a central role in creating a prepared environment in which this is possible.
 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The Primary Guide is a 10-month position. Typical working hours are Mondays from 8:00am-4:30 pm and Tuesday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm. Responsibilities include the following:

<li>Must participate and contribute to IEP, eligibility meetings, Child Study Tier 1-3, and 504 plans</li>
<li>Provide a spirit of hospitality at school gatherings, occasional public events, and ongoing family engagement events</li>
<li>Supervise Montessori and classroom assistants</li>
<li>Attend and participate in school events outside of regular school hours, not limited to conferences, Lesson Share Day, etc.</li>

Founding Extended Learning Teacher Job Description
 
The Extended Learning Teacher is responsible for ensuring students are safe, learning, and excited about the program each day. In coordination with the Extended Learning Coordinator, the Extended Learning Teacher works to ensure students have an organized and robust afterschool program. The program will incorporate yoga, music, dance, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese languages, Robotics, and STEM. The Extended Learning Teacher will report directly to the Extended Learning Coordinator.
 
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

<li>Follow the daily schedule provided by the Extended Learning Coordinator and keep students engaged in fun, hands-on, learning activities</li>
<li>Ensure the Extended Learning Coordinator has attendance sheets to account for present and absent students</li>
<li>Set and hold students to extremely high academic and behavioral standards</li>
<li>Be available to support other Extended Learning Teachers and Extended Learning Coordinator when needed</li>
<li>Ensure the school culture is protected in the program by creating a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment where students are excited and invested in academic achievement</li>
<li>Implement systems and set and reinforce clear expectations and routines that are aligned with the school's overall vision</li>
<li>Ensure students are safe at all times. This includes, but is not limited to monitoring students in the classroom, hallways, at recess, and during other school-related activities</li>
<li>Be available to attend weekly staff meetings with the Extended Learning Coordinator</li>
<li>Distribute snacks to students in the classroom each day</li>

In early childhood, our children will learn all content areas in the partner language for approximately 90% of the school day. They will learn their early literacy and math skills in English for approximately 10% of the school day. As an After-School Substitute Instructor, you will play a crucial role in providing a supportive and engaging environment for children during their after-school hours. We work with children PreK3 - 5th grade.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Required availability Monday to Friday 3:00 to 6:00 PM. No partial weeks. - Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to last-minute schedule changes and stepping into various classroom roles as required.
- Engage and teach children various activities, such as arts and crafts, STEM, homework and monitor playground and snack time.
