<li>While students receive instruction from 8:00 am-3:30 pm, KIPP DC teachers are on duty in school Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm two times a week, and 7:30 am to 4:00 pm three times a week.</li>
<li>Perform clerical duties, as required, relating to textbooks, instructional supplies, student reports and records, attendance reports, etc.</li>
<li>Perform morning, lunch, and afternoon duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Pass all required background check requirements under the School Safety Omnibus Amendment Act of 2018.</li>
<li>Additional responsibilities may arise during the school year. This could include but not limited to: attending staff and student field trips, open houses, family-teacher conferences, and other events involving parents and students as needed. We will communicate them to all employees with as much notice and flexibility as possible.&nbsp;</li>

Teachers can earn up to $5,000 in renewal add-ons to their base salary each year they return to KIPP DC.</li>

Job Description
An excellent elementary school in the Wilkes-Barre, PA area is weeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for a current position opening.This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs while working within a collaborative and student-focused team.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths and goals
</li>
<li>
Provide direct instruction and academic interventions in both inclusive and resource settings
</li>
<li>
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success
</li>
<li>
Monitor and document progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed
</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
</li>
<li>
Active Pennsylvania Special Education certification (or eligibility)
</li>
<li>
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
</li>
<li>
Experience developing and implementing IEPs preferred
</li>
</ul>
