Early Childhood Lead Teacher Job Description
 
The classroom lead teacher is one of the primary instructional leaders who influence the lives of children at Global Citizens PCS. In early childhood, our children will learn all content areas in the partner language for approximately 90% of the school day. They will learn their early literacy and math skills in English for approximately 10% of the school day. The lead English teacher will teach literacy and math skills to all children. 16. Provide supervision and ensure the safety and security of children at all times in accordance with Early Head Start and day care licensing requirements.

28. Maintain regular contact with parents and complete appropriate documentation.
 
29. Forward classroom updates to the Teacher to be included in the monthly newsletter.

39. Maintain the plan to meet changing or emergent program requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice to quantity or quality of work.
 
40. Participates actively in bi-weekly Team Meetings to reflect on performance, generate solutions and ensure high-quality classroom operations.
 
41. Participates actively in bi-weekly Assistant Teacher Meetings.
 
42. Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS &amp; KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
 
● At a minimum, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a state awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential, are enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree or are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire.

We are looking for someone who is interested in growing with our organization and who is passionate about children. As a teacher, you would be responsible for the daily education of students ages 3-5. Class sizes have up to 18 children in them with 1 or 2 teachers depending on the enrollment in each classroom. All children are potty trained; however, they may require help with the potty process. Duties include: supporting academic learning, providing a safe and fun environment, supporting social and emotional development, completing daily living tasks for students such as helping with lunch, toileting and resting. Successful applicants will work alongside our preschool team which includes three other teachers and a coordinator.
