Responsibilities:

<li>Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.</li>
<li>Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with fuel, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed and documented as assigned.</li>
<li>Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.</li>
<li>Report to the Service Manager and will be assigned duties on a daily basis.</li>
<li>Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.</li>
<li>Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining diesel engine trucks and associated equipment</li>
<li>Read job order and observes and listens to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.</li>
<li>Utilize various diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and utilize available technical information to determine and perform correct repair procedure.</li>
<li>Diagnosis, removal and replacement of injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts.</li>
<li>Perform all necessary diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.</li>
<li>Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments.</li>
<li>Lubricate moving parts and drives repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.</li>
<li>Perform preventative maintenance work as requested.</li>
<li>Document and submit necessary paperwork or enter into mobile service program as work performed in an accurate and timely manner.</li>
<li>Respond to customer inquiries regarding the work. Foster positive customer relations.</li>
<li>Advise customer and/or service writer of any repairs or services which should be performed within the next 3 months.</li>
<li>Participate in training and utilize that training in the course of work.</li>

Basic Qualifications:

<li>Analyzes malfunctions by visual and auditory examination or with the use of test equipment such as scanners.</li>
<li>Repairs, adjusts, overhauls, or replaces major assemblies or sub-assemblies such as engine mechanical, electrical, air-conditioning, fuel, emission, power train, brake, steering and suspension systems.</li>
<li>Repair components by replacing worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned parts.</li>
<li>Perform preventive and special maintenance.</li>
<li>Uses technical publications to understand and maintain vehicles to prescribed manufactures' specifications and maintenance schedules.</li>
<li>Perform special inspections and maintenance on vehicles requiring updates. - Develop and follow instructions to integrate unique components into existing ground vehicles.</li>
<li>Properly document all activities as required by task and for reporting purposes.</li>
<li>Ability to utilize extensive experience in the major areas of heavy-duty vehicle systems and repair consisting of diesel and gasoline engines, automatic transmissions, drive systems, steering, suspension, brakes and electronics and heating and ventilation air conditioning systems.</li>

We're looking for a full-time Automotive Alignment Technicians to join Team Mavis at one of our state-of-the-art automotive service, repair and tire sales centers in the Fuquay-Varina, NC area. With over 2,000 retail locations, Mavis is one of the largest tire sales and automotive repair chains in the United States. 
About the Position of Automotive Alignment Technician 
Automotive Alignment technicians use the latest equipment to align newly-mounted tires and wheels on customer's vehicles. By measuring and adjusting caster, camber, toe and thrust angles, our Automotive Alignment Technicians reduce customer's tire wear and ensure serviced vehicles travel straight and true. Mavis's Alignment Technicians also complete state-mandated inspections, oil and filter changes and flat repairs, and perform any other required automotive service or vehicle repairs to customer vehicles.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of Automotive Alignment Technicians you must (1) be at least 18 years of age; (2) be legally authorized to work in the United States; and (3) possess 1 year of experience and/or training in dismounting, mounting, rotating and balancing tires or any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. In addition, it is preferred that Alignment Technicians possess a state inspection license.
As an active position, Automotive Alignment Technicians are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle and tire maintenance and repair. Alignment Technicians must regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
