Compensation: $17.40 is the starting rate hourly for the position. The starting rate has the potential to go up depending on years of relevant medical front desk/ office administration experience. 
SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of front desk functions in a medical office to include registering patients, 
making appointments, and processing patient payments by performing the following duties.

PATIENT REGISTRATION AND OUT PROCESSING:

<li>Performs all functions checking in and out patients in an accurate and timely manner.</li>
<li>Advises patients regarding payment options to include assistance programs, slide and commercial insurance eligibility.</li>
<li>In a professional manner, collects co-payments from patients in the form of cash, check, and credit card and provides receipt.</li>

PATIENT CARE:
<ul>
<li>Maintains patient flow based on appointment setting and medical need; directs other patients and visitors to appropriate area.</li>
<li>Maintains communication with the waiting patient advising them of the progress toward their being seen. Communicates backlogs with the back office and suggests solutions.</li>
<li>Schedules patient appointments in an accurate and timely manner.</li>
<li>Assists patients with insurance questions.</li>
<li>Makes financial arrangements with patients, explains payment options, and obtains patient’s choice of options.</li>

OFFICE OPERATIONS:
<ul>
<li>Answers the phone, takes messages and routes them to the appropriate area in a timely manner. </li>
<li>Prepares daily report sheets and deposits for center. Balances cash collections with posted payments.</li>
<li>Checks accounts on all patients scheduled to be seen the next day for any outstanding balances.</li>
<li>Verifies all fee tickets are complete and charges are entered in the practice management system.</li>
<li>Prepares daily deposits for bank transfer and secure cash until transferred to authorized personnel or deposited at the bank. Balances cash collections with posted payments.</li>
<li>Pulls charts as needed and as indicated by provider.</li>
<li>Participates as requested in quality improvement activities such as group meetings, PDSA pilots, improving relevant processes, etc.</li>
<li>Assists as assigned in patient communications, such as care reminders, tracking followup, etc.</li>
<li>Maintains appearance and materials in lobby.</li>
</ul>

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
About the Role
During a visit that can last up to one hour, Matrix providers review and observe a member’s current health, medical history, medication adherence, social environment and other risks. This provides unmatched insight into a member’s overall health and well-being that can be difficult to capture during routine office visits. The Matrix Comprehensive Health Assessment (CHA) helps to improve quality of care and allows us to potentially close multiple care gaps with a single visit. Our providers:

<li>Conduct adult / geriatric assessments to include medical history, diagnosis and treatment, health education, physician referrals, case management referrals, follow-up and clear documentation according to Matrix guidelines and protocols</li>
<li>Administer and order point of care and lab-based testing as needed</li>
<li>Work with physicians, case managers, social workers, family members, key caregivers, and ancillary medical personnel as appropriate</li>
<li>Collaborate with Primary Care Physician (PCP) on patient education and follow up as necessary</li>
<li>Provide services at the member’s place of residence which can be in their homes or Skilled Nursing Facilities</li>
