Being a web designer at B12 is being a main contributor to the success of the company! At B12, our web designers use our design suite to put together initial websites for our customers after drafts have already been made by our AI. You'll work closely with our customer success team and our other design experts to focus on what you love most--design! If you enjoy freelancing, designing websites, and working in an open and creative environment, then the web designer role with B12 is the right fit for you!
As a web designer you will:

<li>Read and interpret customer briefs. Our current customers are small and medium-sized businesses ranging from cafés to real estate investment firms.</li>
<li>Given a new customer's content and preferences, as well as a website that has been automatically generated for the customer, use our Design Suite (a largely WYSIWYG website editor with support for custom HTML5/CSS overrides) to put an initial website together for the customer in ~4 hours.</li>
<li>Complete enhancement requests for existing customer websites, ranging from small changes to more complex customizations or design improvements.</li>
<li>As a fast-growing platform, there will be adjacent opportunities as reviewers and mentors for the right candidates who wish to grow with us.</li>

In our experience with past customers, designers spend single-digit numbers hours on each project, with iterative feedback from our team. You might intersperse multiple customers' project delivery while waiting on design feedback from the customer and our design lead.
In addition to doing customer delivery work, you will be helping us co-design our Design Suite, as well as a workflow management tool called Orchestra. We have open sourced Orchestra, and are building it to empower creative and analytical experts in their work.
You'll be a good fit if:

Contract Web Designer (WordPress) - Project-Based, Remote

Marketing Direction is a fast-growing, fully remote marketing agency that delivers high-quality marketing programs to a mix of B2B and B2C private companies. We are looking for a talented Contract Web Designer to join our team. In this project-based role, you'll leverage your expertise in WordPress graphic design and a working knowledge of SEO best practices to create high-converting websites that meet our clients' specific needs and marketing goals. 

About the Role:
<ul>
<li>Independent Contractor: This is a contract position, not full-time or part-time employment. We offer project work on an as-needed basis for clients in a variety of industries.</li>
<li>WordPress &amp; Page Builders: You'll design and develop websites using WordPress and a variety of page builders (e.g., Elementor, Avada, Divi, Beaver Builder, WPBakery).</li>
<li>Working Knowledge of SEO: You'll have a familiarity with and be able to implement basic SEO best practices for on-page optimization.</li>
<li>Google Properties: You'll have a working knowledge of Google properties including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, and Google Marketing Platform.</li>
<li>Client Collaboration: You'll collaborate with marketing specialists and project managers to ensure websites are aligned with client branding and marketing objectives.</li>
<li>Graphic Design Integration: You'll possess strong graphic design skills using tools like Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to create graphics and design elements for websites.</li>
<li>Website Updates: You'll be comfortable making updates to existing websites, whether you created them originally or not.</li>
<li>Independent &amp; Communicative: You'll work independently with clear deadlines and effectively communicate project progress and updates.</li>

This position is in support of the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA). Working for the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) involves providing crucial technical support and innovation for cutting-edge tactical systems utilized by the Marine Corps, contributing directly to the effectiveness and efficiency of military operations.
Responsibilities Include:

<li>Developing and implementing software components, modules, and interfaces for the new human capital management system solutions per specifications and requirements</li>
<li>Participating in the design and coding of system architectures, data models, user interfaces, and integration components following DevSecOps practices</li>

Responsibilities

<li>Conceptualize and create an intuitive, engaging, and brand-consistent website experience for LCS and Rent Manager customers, prospects, and partners. Our current corporate website portfolio includes RentManager.com, LCS.com, Conference.RentManager.com, and others.</li>
<li>Manage multiple ongoing web projects from start to finish, including tasks such as learning and understanding the purpose/intent of each of our corporate websites; inter-team and inter-department discussions of build and/or update requirements; and the development and delivery of projects within established deadlines.</li>
<li>Develop frontend and backend processes, code, layouts, and visual elements according to project requirements.</li>
<li>Utilize responsive design principles to support usability in desktop, mobile, and tablet environments.</li>
<li>Update and maintain current websites by developing and optimizing existing features and implementing new features.</li>
<li>Develop interfaces that are usable, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with the Senior Marketing Manager, Marketing Team Leaders, Graphic Designers, and other members of the Marketing department to create and maintain the sites and online resources that will best serve our customers, prospects, and corporate goals.</li>
<li>Define, set, and clearly manage project expectations with Marketing team members and other LCS departments.</li>

Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Degree in web development, web design, or related field</li>
<li>2+ years of previous web development experience</li>
<li>Proven hands-on experience in web design and development, including proficiency with web applications and programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and APIs)</li>
<li>Working knowledge of WordPress and the ability to write WordPress code to create custom functionality</li>
<li>Graphic design skills and proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)</li>
