The Crisis Clinician 2 for the Community Response Team is a non-law enforcement position that will respond to 9-8-8 calls and provide mental health consultation to individuals and families in the community who need some extra support. The position provides triage, brief assessment, consultation, and referrals to community supports.
Typical Work Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., with flexibility depending upon the needs of the department and program.
We offer the following recruitment bonus, prorated based on FTE:

The incumbent in this position upholds confidentiality rules/regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Services may be delivered in person or via telehealth; services may be delivered in the following locations, but not limited to office or in the community including settings necessary to deliver addiction counseling services (e.g., PCC, schools, hospitals, jail, courtroom, residences including transitional treatment bed). The incumbent performs all of the following using a person-centered, strengths-based, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and ethically guided approach. This position is stationed and dispatched from the Psychiatric Crisis Center.

<li>Respond to 9-8-8 calls and provide mental health consultation to individuals in the community. Provide triage, brief assessment, consultation, and referrals to the residents engaged by the program as needed.</li>
<li>Document services in a timely fashion meeting all standards and expectations per MCHHS policies.</li>
<li>Answer phones by being logged into Touchpoint at all times</li>
<li>Provide follow up case management to residents that were engaged in the community with their partner or refer to the Navigators.</li>
<li>Provide back up to PCC as needed to include answering phones by logging into Touchpoint and conducting mental health assessments. Provide counseling by telephone or in-person to individuals and/or their families or concerned others. Intervene with both children and adults. Presenting problems covering the full range of personal needs and include thoughts/plans or violence toward others, and major psychiatric illness. Because of the wide spectrum of presenting problems, it is necessary to have a comprehensive knowledge of psychopathology and to be able to draw upon a wide range of therapeutic strategies in counseling. Perform independent assessment of mental status, diagnosis, level of functioning, dangerousness, and specific needs for service. Screen individual for psychiatric hospitalization. Develop plan with client/family to address immediate needs and plans to obtain services. If client is unwilling to seek services, make decisions regarding involuntary hospitalization based on dangerousness and ability to care for self. Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies to make referrals appropriately.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>

Response Level 2: In the event of an emergency, employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work. Employee may be required to perform duties outside of their regularly assigned duties. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Responsibilities:
To be our Nursing Supervisor you must be able to handle the following:
<ul>
<li>Act as RN on duty for skilled nursing and the residential care home</li>
<li>Supervise, direct and assist skilled nursing staff with support from charge nurses</li>
<li>Ensure high quality of care both clinical and non-clinical for Long Term Care and Short Term Rehab residents</li>
<li>Keep Director of Clinical Services and Administrator advised as appropriate</li>
<li>Coordinate and complete paperwork with attention to detail</li>
<li>Handle admission of new residents</li>
<li>Ability to be flexible with schedule due to needs of the home</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Long Term experience preferred but not required</li>
<li>Nurse with current CT RN license in good standing</li>
<li>Must possess strong nursing, communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Electronic Medical Records experience</li>
<li>Supervisor skills including teaching, coaching, holding accountable</li>
</ul>
