Marion County Health and Human Services is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and flexible Program Therapist (Mental Health Therapist 2) to work at Horizon House Residential Treatment Facility. The Program Therapist will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide Person-Centered mental health treatment services in a 24-hour residential clinical setting.
This individual will be serving a caseload of up to 9 adult residents with serious and persistent mental illness and/or chemical dependency. Ideal candidates will have direct or related experience working in a therapeutic milieu environment, facilitating therapeutic groups, implementing/writing treatment plans, and managing doctor's orders.
The candidate will collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure the best possible treatment for residents. We actively engage our residents in treatment related activities by promoting community integration, and a recovery model approach that emphasizes independent skill development (e.g. cooking, budgeting, shopping, cleaning, nutrition, medications, social skills, communication).
Schedule is standard M-F, 0830-1700 with some flexibility based on department need. The program therapist will also maintain clinical documentation, and transport clients as needed - ODL is required.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Mental Health Therapist 2: Provide assessments and treatment of individuals and families, including groups; provides crisis assessment and intervention services and related duties as required. Primary responsibility of this class is to provide assessment and treatment services; crisis intervention, and treatment services, including intensive services, to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses and/or to develop and implement specific services in the community.
Mental Health Therapist 1: Plans and carries out recreational, social and skills training activities; performs case management and counseling functions with Adults in Custody (AIC); facilitates counseling and/or skills training groups; performs related duties as required. Primary responsibility of this class is case management and counseling, without responsibility for developing and implementing specific programs in the community.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Mental Health Therapist 2 and 1: Works under the supervision of a supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness.

Typical Duties - Duties include, but are not limited to the following
Provides Horizon House with clinical support that is including, but not limited to providing individual and group therapy, training staff, and communicating any clinical findings to the Horizon House staff. 
Counseling:

<li>Provide in-person individual and group therapy to individuals in residential treatment services. </li>
<li>Provide and model interventions necessary for our residents to achieve their highest level of functioning. </li>

Community Coordination: 
<ul>
<li>Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies in order to coordinate appropriately. </li>
<li>Coordinates with supervisor and centralized scheduler on new referrals, screenings, and intakes. </li>
<li>See that clients gain access to the services they need, and do follow-up work as needed, to make certain that clients' needs are being met.</li>
</ul>
Milieu: 
<ul>
<li>Be willing to cover an open shift or work with other supervisors to cover. </li>
<li>Be present in the milieu engaging individuals in milieu therapy. </li>
<li>Model effective milieu management for other staff. </li>

Medication:

<li>Assist Horizon House team with the medication administration record (MAR) by being a backup for the weekly and monthly MAR audit, maintaining doctors' orders, coordinating with medical facilities, and communicating any medical changes with Horizon House staff/supervisors. </li>

Hiring:

<li>Work closely with Clinical Supervisor and Program Supervisor to assist with the hiring process by participating in interview panels and assisting with reference checks as needed.</li>

Training new hires:

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
<li>Possession of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy or a behavioral science field, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Nursing and licensed by the State of Oregon, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon; OR second year graduate students waivered as QMHP's by the Oregon Health Authority.</li>
<li>Mental Health Therapist 2 Only: In addition to the educational requirements above, the Mental Health Therapist 2 must have at least one year of full-time, post-Master's degree experience in the behavioral health field. </li>

<li>Provide individual and group therapy services to individuals using a variety of evidence-based practices as clinically indicated, which may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPI), and Motivational Interviewing. </li>
<li>Provide case management to include determining individual service needs, eligibility, and appropriateness of services; making referrals and coordinating with other agencies to obtain services and resources for individuals; and advocacy and brokerage on behalf of client to access community resources, benefits, and entitlements. </li>

Bilingual Public Health Worker 2 - Clinical Preventive Services -Health and Human Services

Marion County Health &amp; Human Services is looking for a qualified individual to work 50% within the Marion County Correctional Facility to provide services to Adults in Custody (AIC) and 50% as a Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS) Clinician. While in the jail, this position provides crisis counseling and resource/referral information for AIC's. It requires a creative individual who can think outside the box and work compassionately with AIC's as well as the jail staff to provide the best possible outcomes for the individuals we serve. As a CAMS Clinician, this position will provide individuals experiencing suicidal ideation with a framework for providing expedient outpatient services focusing on what is driving the suicidal thoughts.
The person in this position must be able to work independently, problem solve, and be proactive when engaging the individual. We offer the following recruitment bonus, prorated based on FTE:

Because of the wide spectrum of presenting problems, it is necessary to have a comprehensive knowledge of psychopathology and to be able to draw upon a wide range of therapeutic strategies in counseling.</li>
<li>Assessment of Mental Status: Perform independent assessment of mental status, diagnosis, level of functioning, dangerousness, and specific needs for services.</li>
<li>Planning Development: Develop plan with client/family to address immediate needs and plans to obtain services. If client is unwilling to seek services, make decisions regarding involuntary commitment based on dangerousness and ability to care for self.</li>
<li>Community Coordination: Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies in order to make referrals appropriately. See that clients gain access to the services they need, and do follow-up work as needed, to make certain that client's needs are being met.</li>

Ability to provide direction for professional staff; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients and other agency personnel; accept and utilize management direction and consultation. 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Operates a motor vehicle; sees using depth perception; stands; sits; moves about the work area; bends forward; lifts, pushes, pulls and moves carts up to 10 lbs.; carries up to 5 lbs.; operates a keyboard; speaks clearly and audibly; reads a 12-pt. font; distinguishes colors and shades; hears a normal level of speech; may traverse uneven areas when delivering meds.
