Requirements

Outreach Librarian

<h3>Job Description</h3>
Purpose:
This position is responsible for performing professional support level librarian duties and exercising building and personnel supervision and support. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Under the direction of the Branch Manager:
<ul>
<li>
Supervises branch staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that staff follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe work environment; and, making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations. 
</li>

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, coordinates collection maintenance at the branch level, to include eliminating outdated materials, monitoring customer needs and making recommendations to the manager and/or Library Administration, assigning and monitoring branch staff collection maintenance duties, and ensuring that the branch collection maintains an attractive and welcoming appearance. Guides and trains staff in marketing the branch collections and library resources to the public.

Presents formal and informal training to staff and customers on relevant topics and issues. Maintains the branch training plan for staff development and routinely leads staff training.

Works with community groups which can include schools, non-profit organizations and businesses in order to promote library activities and services. Coordinates and conducts library tours and community presentations.

Creates and coordinates branch staff schedules as delegated by the branch manager.

This position is a key and essential role for the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense-Chemical Casualty Care Division (USAMRICD-CCCD) by establishing an archival resource of historically significant educational materials that are currently inaccessible.

In this role you will:

<li>Complete the preparation and execution of archiving all historic video, photographic and presentation image content of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense-Chemical Casualty Care Division (USAMRICD-CCCD).</li>
<li>Develop and demonstrate a retrieval system for archived educational material, ensuring functionality for faculty course development.</li>
<li>Identify hardware and software requirements for the archival system, ensuring that all local, DOD/Army, state and federal requirements are met and that formatting is compatible with existing systems.</li>
