ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clinical Research Coordinator will be assigned to pharmaceutical studies, device clinical trials, and/or investigator-initiated research projects. This position works under the supervision of Principal Investigator(s) and Director, Clinical Research Operations whose research activities are conducted under good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines. Work hours will need to be flexible to meet individual project needs. Evening, weekend, and overnight hours may be required. Attendance at departmental and weekly general staff meetings is expected. This is not a fully remote position and while some remote work may be permitted at times, consistent in-person attendance is required.
This position will fulfill the following specific functions:

<li>Responsible for the integrity and overall quality of assigned clinical research trials</li>

<li>Attends Investigator Meetings as assigned</li>
<li>Maintains drug and device accountability and dispensing logs for assigned studies</li>

Clinical Research Coordinator II

Position Summary: 
The Lead MLW Technician assumes responsibility of phlebotomy/specimen accessioning workflow. The Lead MLW Technician obtains blood specimens from patients for laboratory analysis, observing protocols and methods established by The Department of Laboratories. The Lead MLW Technician unpacks, registers and receives specimens, preparing them for lab tests, while locating and correcting any discrepancies, and ensuring that specimens are preserved properly before forwarding them to the appropriate laboratory section. Performs customer service related duties as assigned. The Lead MLW Technician is responsible for overall training and competency of accessioners and phlebotomists on their shifts as well as troubleshooting issues that may arise.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following: 
 Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
 Assumes responsibility of phlebotomy/specimen processing workflow
 Ability to obtain blood specimens using varied technique on all age groups (where applicable)
 Responsible to remove specimens from transport bags, verifies proper identifiers on all requisitions; and promptly follows-up on discrepancies or omissions on paperwork or specimens.
 Responsible for entering ordered tests from outreach requisition into HIS to ensure that the ancillary laboratory departments receive appropriate testing orders;prioritize workload to ensure the timely processing of all specimens.
 Responsible for labeling and dissemination of specimen to the proper laboratory department.
 Demonstrate knowledge and use of client specific registration and accessioning procedures
 Responsible for answering all incoming outreach telephone calls and responding in order to resolve call in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
 Responsible for faxing laboratory results to physician offices as requested.
 To ensure seamless communication between shifts, responsible for documentation of all outreach issues in the LIS for follow-up and resolution the next business day.
 Review of the "Specimen Master Log" to ensure accuracy in the accessioning process.
 Responsible for compiling all necessary supplies for outreach clients and documenting quantities in the LIS prior to delivery.
 Maintaining Appropriate Inventory of Necessary Supplies - LIS Material Management System
 Completes ICD-10 diagnosis coding for all MLW outreach accounts by entering the appropriate code into the HIS; contact and follow-up with physician offices for diagnosis and/or ICD-10 codes if not provided on the submitted requisition; Documents phone conversation with physician office according to Medicare guidelines.
 Responsible for scanning all coded requisitions into the ELR of the LIS
 Responsible for STAT specimen pick-up at local physician office practices, as well as, dispatching contracted courier service
 Responsible sorting, compiling and delivery of laboratory reports to local physician office practices

The Team Lead/Senior CPSO for the Special Security Office is responsible for on-site execution of program security requirements for assigned SAP/SCI program(s), to include designing and successfully executing a security program which ensures compliance with regulatory guidance. All phlebotomists shall perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of United WestLabs, Inc. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of quality of customer care and satisfaction in a cost effective manner. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this position shall perform phlebotomy on patients. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform phlebotomy professionally, competently and with compassion for the patient.
2. Maintain a safe and clean environment for all staff members and patients, including without limitation, collecting and disposing of specimens and other contaminated material in accordance with established policies and procedures and with adherence to the appropriate standards of infection control and body fluid precautions and protective equipment when necessary.
3. Ensure that requisitions are completed properly, and the patient demographic, diagnosis, insurance and physician information are included on or attached to the requisitions. Diagnostic information shall be in a narrative or ICD-9 code format and valid only if legible.
4. If a patient is a Medicare patient, you must review the National Coverage Decisions (“NCD”) and Local Medical review Policies (“LMRP”) for the tests ordered on the requisition form to determine if an Advance Beneficiary Notice (“ABN”) must be completed. If the form is needed, correctly complete the form with the patient.
5. Ensure that the Medicare Secondary Form (“MSP”) is completed when necessary.
6. Accurately collect all specimens necessary to fulfill the clients’ lab orders.
7. Provide accurate communication to clients and their staff regarding the proper ordering of lab tests.
8. Ensure that draw station where you work is kept clean and adequately stocked with supplies every day.
9. On a daily basis, inform your Operations Supervisor of your job performance issues, concerns and schedule.
