The Highlands Ranch Metro District is now accepting applications for part-time Fitness Instructors for our Senior Services program. Instructors provide skilled instruction and supervision for older adult fitness classes offered in the community and at the Highlands Ranch Senior Center. Ideal candidates must be able to teach a variety of formats to include, but not limited to, cardio and muscle conditioning, strength training, and other generalized group fitness classes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

<li>Requires current ACE, AFAA, AAAI, NASM or equivalent group exercise and current CPR/AED certification. Must have or be willing to obtain Silver Sneakers Instructor Certification if needed. </li>
<li>At least six months experience in teaching fitness classes to older adults is preferred.</li>

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of fitness, health and wellness principles and how to apply them in teaching fitness classes. Must be aware of physical modifications for individuals of all ages/abilities. Must be able to plan, develop and implement a class curriculum as established by certification. 
Works in an indoor (and occasional outdoor) setting where incumbent may be subject to noise and distraction; requires extended periods of speaking in a loud voice for up to an hour at a time; requires public relations skills in handling concerns and complaints; entails working closely with others and working with little supervision; and requires excellent organizational/time management skills.

Are you Qualified?
<ul>
<li>Currently fitness certified from an education company approved by Orangetheory Fitness:
<ul>
<li>ACE, ACSM, ISSA, NASM, NSCA</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>Current AED/CPR certification</li>
<li>Successful completion of the OTFit Certification Program</li>
<li>Have a functional understanding of strength and heart rate-based interval training</li>
<li>Experience working in a fitness environment (preferred)</li>
<li>A team player committed to growth and excellence</li>
