POSITION DESCRIPTION: As a Dietitian 2, you would be a member of an interdisciplinary team and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy which may include consulting with physicians on nutrition support requests; planning and supervising the preparation of special diets and menus; maintaining safe and sanitary conditions; and training or assisting individuals, families, and staff to plan specialized and therapeutic nutrition care plans. You may have oversight responsibility in the service of food; assist in the instruction of students or nutrition interns in Medical Nutrition Therapy and food preparation techniques, supervise dietetic interns and technicians; and/or supervise a small food preparation service unit. This clinician will address the increasingly complex dietary needs of the individuals and provide critical services to maintain the health and safety of the individuals with specific needs such as poor glycemic management of their diabetes, and other complex conditions that require more intensive, onsite, and individualized services. We have an increasing demand for dietitians to translate and identify the accuracy and consistency around the terminology of the diets of those discharged from hospital or rehabilitative care.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Monitor the need of high nutritional risk individuals in their assigned area (i.e., tube feeding, pre-tube feedings, those prone to aspiration pneumonia, multiple chopped/puree consistency diets, as well as individuals with kealoric, electrolyte, nutrient and other metabolic needs, such as diabetes, hypertension, low body weight, renal and kidney disorders etc.). • Complete an Annual Nutritional Assessment via the nutritional care process (NCP) for each individual based on his/her nutritional care needs. • Perform semi-annual nutritional assessments for those receiving enteral feeding &amp; Willowbrook individuals. • Perform monthly weights, lab reviews, and diet roster update. • Develop staff training plans for employees on all three shifts in assigned areas based upon individuals' specific nutritional care needs. • Develop seasonal menus tailored to the individual's needs. • Conduct weekly meal observations. • Train staff on proper food safety and sanitation. • Provide nutrition care instructions to individuals and their families. • Conduct annual sanitation inspections of kitchens and food safety update. • Other duties as assigned appropriate to the title. • Travel required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title. On or before the date of filing your application, you must have:
Either 1: current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD). You must indicate your RD registration number on your application.

The successful candidate:
<ul>
<li>Assess patients to determine nutritional and dietary needs. </li>
<li>Identify medical goals and develop nutritional plans to help patients improve their help.</li>
<li>Work with patients to teach healthy eating habits, encourage program adherence. </li>
<li>Develop customized diets for cultural, religious, and/or income-restricted individuals. </li>
<li>Comfortable integrating medical nutrition therapy with complex disease states. </li>
<li>Provides effective assessment of patient’s nutritional needs and appropriate patient care planning through effective communication with physician’s, medical staff, families, and other allied health professionals. </li>
<li>Keep accurate patient records of history and activities regarding patient care. </li>
<li>Keep abreast of advancements in nutrition. </li>
<li>Comply with all applicable state/federal laws, rules, regulations, and procedures. </li>
<li>Participates in professional development activities.</li>
<li>Maintains strict confidentiality. </li>
<li>Must read and understand and adhere to all Sacred Circle Health Care policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value statements.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements
<ul>
<li>EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, or a related field. </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>EXPERIENCE: 1 or more years working as a Registered Dietitian</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>CERTIFICATION: </li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Current Commission on Dietetic Registration</li>
<li>Current State Certified Dietitian</li>
<li>CPR Certified </li>
</ol>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of care. </li>
<li>Knowledge of relevant nutrition care and ability to and instruct patient in dietary needs. </li>
<li>Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements (if applicable).</li>
<li>Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, and objectives. </li>
<li>Ability to use computer systems and applications. </li>
<li>Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. </li>
<li>Ability to plan and organize. </li>
<li>Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures. </li>
<li>Ability to operate office equipment. </li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively with patients, clinical and administrative staff, and the public. </li>
<li>Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies and procedures. </li>
<li>Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. </li>
<li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment. </li>
