The Director of Student Housing Operations with COCM at California State University San Marcos will provide leadership for the on-campus student housing community. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to communication liaison between ownership and key stakeholders; fiscal oversight; management of accounts payable and receivable; oversight of leasing, marketing and summer conference programs; enforcement of housing agreement terms; supervision of facility maintenance; and supervision of professional staff. The responsibilities of the Director require a combination of managerial and interpersonal skills aimed at supporting staff and residents while running a fiscally efficient operation. Essential Duties:

The District Director selected will: 
<ul>
<li>Serve as manager and operating officer of one or more service areas within Orange County. Responsible for the effective organization, operation, and promotion of program within service area. </li>
<li>Supervise one or more professionals in the service area or another service area. </li>
<li>Work with a volunteer board of directors and other community and business leaders to identify, recruit, train, guide, and inspire them to become involved in youth programs. </li>
<li>Achieve progress towards specific goals and objectives which include program development through collaborative relationships, volunteer recruitment and training, fundraising, membership recruitment and retention. </li>
<li>Be responsible for extending programs to religious, civic, fraternal, educational, and other community-based organizations through volunteers. </li>
<li>Secure adequate financial support for programs in assigned area. Achieve net income and participation objectives for assigned camps and activities. </li>
<li>Recruit leadership for finance campaign efforts to meet the financial needs of the organization. </li>
<li>Ensure that all program sites are served through volunteers, regular leader meetings, training events and activities. </li>
<li>Collaborate with adult volunteers and oversee achievement of training for their respective role. </li>
<li>Be a good role model and recognize the importance of working relationships with other professionals and volunteers. The director must have communication skills and be able to explain the program's goals and objectives to the public. </li>
<li>Provide quality service through timely communication, regular meetings, training events and activities.</li>
<li>Have a willingness and ability to devote long and irregular hours to achieve council and district objectives. </li>
</ul>
Desired Skills: 
<ul>
<li>Strong marketing, fundraising and program development background is highly desired. </li>
<li>Non-profit, fundraising or sales experience is a plus. </li>
<li>Must be comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse audiences.</li>
<li>Excellent people skills, enthusiastic, punctual, responsible, and creative. </li>
<li>Self-motivated individual with solid time management skills and strong organizational skills in management, budgeting, and planning. </li>
<li>Committed to personal and professional productivity, while maintaining high ethical and professional working standards. </li>
</ul>
Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Must be willing to accept and meet the Boy Scout of America's leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law. </li>
<li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (transcript with the date degree conferred stated is required for employment). </li>
<li>Attained 21 years of age or older unless prohibited by any applicable law. </li>
<li>Ability to work varied hours when necessary, evening activities and weekend work is frequently required to achieve positive objectives. </li>
<li>Ability to travel for training at least once a year for one to two weeks. </li>
<li>A Scouting background is helpful but not required for employment. </li>

Compensation: 
All councils are equal opportunity employers. In addition to offering a competitive starting salary of $72,000 up to $75,000, Professional Scouting offers benefits to include major medical, prescription coverage, dental, vision, life-insurance, long-term disability, accidental death, a 403(b)-retirement plan match, plus compensation for authorized and approved business related expenses to include phone and mileage reimbursement. Position Summary:
The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) is seeking a UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Area County Director to provide leadership in support of applied research and outreach programs across Kern, Kings, and Tulare counties. Purpose: The Area County Director is responsible for the coordination and overall operation of UCCE programs in cooperation with county government in Kern, Kings and Tulare Counties.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Act as a liaison between UCCE and County Departments, Boards of Supervisors and County Administrative Officer</li>
<ul>
<li>Serve as a county department head for the University of California Cooperative Extension department in each county.</li>
<li>Secure adequate county budgets and resources</li>
<li>Build relationships and synergies to deploy UCCE research to address county needs</li>
<li>Supervision and or oversight of county employees</li>
</ul>
<li>Understand and communicate value of UCCE impact to county partners and others</li>
<li>Oversight and administration of UCCE educational and applied research programs</li>
<ul>
<li>Hire and manage personnel</li>
<li>Provide direction and leadership to UCCE academic and support staff</li>
<li>Mentor, manage and evaluate academic personnel</li>
<li>Supervision of UC ANR employees</li>
</ul>
<li>Maintain positive working relationships with partnering public and private agencies</li>
<li>Expand collaborations and funding sources.</li>
<li>Comply with University of California and county policies.</li>
</ul>
The County Director oversees management of the physical plant and human resources. They will increase the visibility of UCCE through community engagement, including but not limited to, needs assessments, representing UC ANR in local and/or regional initiatives, participation in relevant policy development, and communicating the positive impacts and benefits realized by the citizens and workforce of the local counties, region and state from the activities and contributions of local UCCE programs.
UCCE is administered by the University of California, Division of Agriculture Natural Resources. UCCE brings the knowledge of University of California research through its agriculture, natural resources, youth development and nutrition programs to address local questions and to help solve local problems. UCCE academics, staff, and volunteers live and work in the communities they serve, helping identify, respond to, and resolve local challenges. UC ANR connects Californians to UC, leading the way to science-based solutions.
Location Headquarters: This position will be headquartered in Kern or Tulare County.
This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.
Pay Scale: $102,300/year to $157,200/year
