Job Summary:
As an Instrument Operator/Rodman on the Land Survey Team, you will assist the Land Survey Crew Chief in completing the crew's assigned field survey projects. The position requires good basic math skills related to surveying, good verbal and written communication skills and the motivation to follow instructions completely and accurately while working in rough terrain and inclement weather.
Duties/Responsibilites:
<ul>
<li>Transmits survey data to proper files in the computer network and acquires data for field use.</li>
<li>Accurately and efficiently clears line, establishes points, tape, chain and level for field survey projects as assigned by Crew Chief.</li>
<li>Keeps crew's assigned vehicle clean, properly maintained, and stocked with the necessary equipment and supplies as instructed by the Crew Chief.</li>
<li>Reports any mechanical or safety related problems to the Crew Chief.</li>
<li>Loads for transportation, cleans and stores field surveying equipment used by the crew.</li>
<li>Communicates and coordinates effectively with other crew members to facilitate the timely and accurate completion of assigned projects.</li>
<li>Observes all safety guidelines and procedures, particularly when working around traffic or on active construction sites.</li>
<li>Accurately identifies the various types of trees encountered while performing field survey work.</li>
<li>Assists in the training of entry level rodmen as requested.</li>
<li>Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey.</li>

Required Skills/Abilities:

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Associate Electrical Engineer

About the Opportunity:∙ Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic∙ Pay: $28/Hour∙ Location: Vadnais Heights, MN∙ Schedule: 1st Shift, Mon-Fri 6AM-2:30PM with O/T available on Friday. Daily functions:
<ol>
<li>Repair and perform preventive maintenance, facilities, high voltage, and production equipment, HVAC, company vehicles, yard trucks, forklifts, mobile cranes, tractors.</li>
<li>Repair and report electrical problems or upgrades needed to comply with NEC and OSHA standards.</li>
<li>Responsible for 24 hour “on-call” for plant equipment failure and emergency</li>
<li>Maintain buildings and grounds in appropriate condition, including painting and repairing of facilities, snow removal and lawn maintenance when required.   </li>
<li>Partner with equipment manufacturing service personnel on installation, training, set up, moving, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and facilities. </li>
<li>Perform construction projects, structural and non-structural, to repair or improve facilities. </li>
<li>Coordinate with supervisor for new building designs and equipment layout</li>
<li>Provide work direction to lesser experienced employees on preventive maintenance and grounds maintenance projects, as needed.</li>
<li>Design and fabricate items or parts to upgrade production facilities or equipment to promote safety and efficiency.</li>
<li>Observe problems, damages, or potential safety hazards on daily travels through facilities and correct them or report them to supervisor.</li>
<li>Request parts needed for a specific job and obtain necessary approval to make purchases.</li>
<li>Complete reports on preventive maintenance and equipment repairs</li>
<li>Conduct periodic safety inspections on equipment.</li>
<li>Manage hazardous waste program by receiving proper training; coordinate with safety manager and production personnel regarding spills and clean up; maintain waste areas for electrical bulbs, batteries, chemicals, etc.; ensure that waste is labeled properly; sign manifests for shipment and forward to safety manager. </li>
</ol>
Desired qualifications:
<ol>
<li>Licensed maintenance electrician or qualified to work under the direct supervisor of maintenance electrician.</li>
<li>Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.</li>
<li>Experience with precision measuring tools and production and facilities equipment</li>
</ol>
Physical requirements:
<ol>
<li>Lifting 50lbs.</li>
<li>Perform repetitive work while moving around, under, and over equipment while on the production floor 95% of the time.</li>
<li>Perform work outdoors in all-weather 5% of the time.</li>
<li>Must be able to bend, stoop and crouch and stand for long periods of time.</li>
<li>Use hands and fingers to operate hand tools.</li>
</ol>
