 Position Summary:
In conjunction with the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent helps to oversee the safe execution of daily construction activities at the jobsite.  Supervises and coordinates various subcontractors and individual trades to ensure contract compliance.  Works to ensure workmanship quality, schedule, and safety of the jobsite.  May be responsible for a specific area within the jobsite.
Position Responsibilities:

<li>Fulfills primary leadership role and assumes responsibility for jobsite in absence of Superintendent</li>
<li>Maintains open and active communication with architects, engineers, subcontractors, owners, facility, field personnel and Batten &amp; Shaw team</li>
<li>Conducts punch list inspections and ensures that any deficiencies are corrected</li>
<li>Oversees daily execution of performed work for compliance to contract specification and drawings</li>
<li>Reads and interprets submittals, contract documents, and shop drawings in order to gain understanding of and ensure compliance with construction requirements</li>

<li>Manages work activities within assigned budget</li>
<li>In conjunction with Superintendent, manages jobsite safety practices in adherence to OSHA guidelines</li>

Education and Experience:

The Traveling Healthcare Construction Superintendent maintains overall project responsibility with regard to workmanship, quality, schedule, and safety.  Oversees the safe execution of daily construction activities at the job site.  Supervises and coordinates various subcontractors and individual trades to ensure contract compliance.  Serves as the onsite representative of Batten|Shaw, Inc. and maintains open and active communication with subcontractors, owners, facility, and Batten|Shaw team.

Position Responsibilities

Safety

<ul>
<li>Responsible for managing site safety program to include weekly job site safety meetings, job site safety checklists, daily observation of safe work practices, and adherence to OSHA guidelines.</li>
<li>Develops and maintains required documentation including but not limited to life safety plan, emergency action plan, contact information sheet, and infection control plan.</li>
<li>Holds initial safety orientation training with every subcontractor prior to their starting work on-site.</li>
<li>Schedule</li>
<li>Reads and studies construction documents such as specifications, contracts, shop drawings and blueprints to determine construction requirements and develops plan procedures for execution.</li>
<li>Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of project tasks.  Seeks subcontractor and owner input to build an effective schedule.  </li>
<li>Develops schedule and phasing in conjunction with Project Manager.  </li>
<li>Manages an effective near term schedule, including a four-week look ahead, and overall job schedule.</li>
<li>Mobilizes and demobilizes to and from the job site.</li>

Quality

<li>Oversees the daily construction activities at job sites, including scheduling of subcontractors, requisition, and delivery of equipment and materials, and progress of the project in order to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.  </li>
<li>Manages all activities according to written policies and procedures, safety rules, infection control procedures, applicable building codes, and state and federal requirements. </li>
<li> Strives for minimal punch list issues needing to be resolved.</li>
<li>Directs all company field staff including third party carpenters/laborers.</li>
