About the Opportunity:
The JCC is seeking energetic, responsible Counselors to provide a safe and memorable experience for our children and their families. Seasonal Bonus:

Bonus will be paid out at the end of Summer Camp or during the last paycheck, whichever comes first. Camp employees are eligible to earn 1 of the following bonus tiers, whichever is the highest amount for which they qualify, up to $750:

<li>$300 – Work a minimum of 105 hours.</li>
<li>$500 – Work a minimum of 175 hours.</li>

Additional Information:
The work environment is fast-paced and requires high mobility, standing, walking (sometimes on uneven terrain), bending, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling (to be eye-level with a child). Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. Must have the visual, auditory and verbal ability to observe campers and counselors and respond to appropriately and effectively in the event of an emergency.

POSITION SUMMARY: To provide a safe, inclusive, and meaningful experience for campers by supervising all aspects of daily camper life and facilitating, participating in, and supporting campers through camp activities.

BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY

<li>Set the tone and guide a group of young people on a journey of self-exploration, challenge, and fun for 11 days at a time.  (3 standard sessions are 11 days each. We also have shorter sessions like Teen Camp and Family Camp.)</li>
<li>Live in a cabin with a co-counselor and 6-8 campers, and assume responsibility for the physical and emotional wellbeing of campers during all on-duty hours (20-22 hours per day, as scheduled). </li>
<li>Provide active supervision and attention to ensure campers are encouraged, safe, active, accepted, well-rested and generally cared for.</li>
<li>All meals are provided during camp sessions. Counselors are expected to sit with and engage with their campers at meals, and to eat the camp food provided with the campers. </li>
<li>Guide your campers through their fear, frustration, lots of laughter, bumps, bruises, learning through failure and moments of absolutely amazing accomplishment.</li>
</ul>

<li>Assist in preparation of and actively participate in camp programming including evening activities, camper choice time, bus duty, and more.</li>
<li>Write participation notes for each camper to acknowledge their achievements.</li>
</ul>
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
