Role Responsibilities:
Provide executive support to the Vice President and General Counsel and the Associate General Counsel on matters relating to the chief obligations and mandates of the Office of Legal Counsel.&nbsp;Such duties include:&nbsp;

Purpose: 
The Department of History at Santa Clara University,a Jesuit, Catholic university,&nbsp;seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship (full-time) in the history of the American West with research and teaching interests in the history of technology in the 20th and 21st centuries, the history of California, and/or the history of Silicon Valley, to begin fall 2024. Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss how their research and teaching intersect with and leverage our location in Santa Clara Valley on the site of the historic Spanish mission Santa Clara, built on the ancestral lands of the Ohlone and the Muwekma Ohlone peoples. SCU is on the quarter system and faculty are expected to teach 6 courses per year (2 each quarter), assuming they are engaged in an active scholarship program.

We seek a historian who can engage with the broader social, demographic, and environmental forces that transformed the “Valley of Heart’s Delight” into “Silicon Valley.” We are particularly interested in a scholar with expertise in digital humanities and public history. Historians who are able to take a long view of the development of northern California from its earliest and persistent Indigenous inhabitants to the technological transformation of the 20th and 21st centuries are especially welcome. We are also looking for historians who can connect the history of technology and the computer industry to various dynamics of the 20th and 21st centuries that it has affected. Such intersections could include the environmental and social impacts of technological development and modern capitalism; . data justice, surveillance, and control; labor and migration shifts, particularly immigration from Asia; and problems of race and gender equity in technology fields. The successful candidate will be able to help our students critically assess popular narratives about the technology industry and its role in our society and develop a complex understanding of its impact on the social and historical dynamics of the modern world.&nbsp;

The College of Arts &amp; Sciences is currently conducting its third cluster hire in the area of Inequality &amp; Social Justice. It is possible that the person hired for this position will be included in the Fall 2024 cohort if their research/teaching is a strong fit. Cluster hire participants will receive mentorship and regular group meetings providing peer support and an interdisciplinary intellectual community to support their scholarly and creative work.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate the potential for excellent, innovative undergraduate teaching and mentoring, and a willingness to support student research. Teaching
1. Teach lower- and upper-division courses in the major and university core curriculum, as assigned by the chair, including courses like the history of technology.&nbsp; SCU is on the quarter system and a typical load is two courses per quarter. e.&nbsp; &nbsp; Administering numerical and narrative evaluations in each section for all courses.
2. Develop and teach courses that contribute to curriculum development in the history major and university core.&nbsp; Faculty teaching university core courses should follow an approved syllabus or work with the chair to design an appropriate syllabus for submission for approval from the relevant Faculty Core Curriculum Committee.
3. Participate in assessment of student learning for courses in the department.
4. Provide informed advice and mentoring to undergraduate students.
5. Fulfill other instructional or academic duties as may be assigned by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences or by the Chair of the History Department.

Research
1. Develop a research program at SCU that will result in the publication of peer-reviewed publications, monographs, and/or creative work per the department scholarship standards.
2. Preference will be given to candidates with a research program that can accommodate participation of undergraduates.

The Vice President for Research serves as a member of the university's executive leadership team, reporting directly to the President, and works closely with the Provost and other members of the President’s Cabinet. As the senior research officer of the university, the Vice President for Research is responsible for collaborating with relevant constituencies to develop and implement a vision, plan, and policies to guide and expand the university's research portfolio, and work with faculty to oversee critical aspects of the university's research infrastructure and operations.
Direct reports to the Vice President for Research currently include assistant/associate vice presidents, directors, staff members within the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR). The Division of Research consists of Sponsored Programs Administration, the Office of Research Compliance, the Division of Laboratory Animal Research, and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety. The Director engages directly with members of Congress, congressional committees and staff, executive branch officials, federal agencies and association partners. Primary Responsibilities:&nbsp;
Business Office&nbsp;- Responsible for the accurate accounting and budgeting of appropriated and non-appropriated funds to include payroll and student accounts. Human Resources&nbsp;- Responsible for talent acquisition, salary administration, employee training, and appropriate application of&nbsp;&nbsp;HR policies, procedures, and practices. May coordinate on the process of position creation and management. Student Financial Aid&nbsp;- Responsible for accurate accounting and disbursement of student financial aid; federal funds, scholarships, grants, waivers, and awards used by students for tuition, books, and fees. Facilities Management&nbsp;- Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of all buildings and grounds of the University.&nbsp;&nbsp;Provides oversight for new construction and renovation of buildings. About the Opportunity
Synergos is seeking an experienced Managing Director, GlobalPhilanthropists Circle to lead our network of philanthropists, acritical and growing arm of our organization.
This position is a full-time role reporting to the CEO and is akey member of the leadership team. The Managing Director willmanage the Global Philanthropists Circle, a global network withmembers from 30 countries that supports values-drivenphilanthropists and social investors to better address systemiccauses of poverty and inequity. They will oversee and supervise aglobal team with functions including planning, project management,budgeting and financial management, staffing, mentoring,resourcing, marketing and evaluation. Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Operations

<li>Lead a process to clarify the value proposition, futurestrategic direction and sustainable business model of our work withphilanthropists.</li>
<li>Implement the strategic direction for Philanthropy at Synergosensuring adequate systems, staffing, and resources are in place tosuccessfully deliver on its ambitious mission and goals.</li>

Program and Business Development

<li>Working with the Philanthropy team and other Synergosdepartments, design and execute a strong offering of products,programs, and services, including but not limited to membershipnetworks, collective action initiatives, and advisory service formembers that enhance their impact in line with Synergos’ mission,and drives continued/deeper engagement with Synergos overtime.</li>
<li>Design and execute a successful business development andresource mobilization strategy, in collaboration with other membersof the Synergos leadership team, for the global philanthropyprogram at Synergos, aligning to Synergos’ overall goals andmission (inclusive of cultivating new members; identifying andforging strategic partnerships; developing strategies for growthand diversification of income streams; etc.) Through membershipfees and grants, operate the GPC to provide Synergos withadditional unrestricted income to support its other programs andofferings.</li>

Team Management

Qualifications

Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Associate conducts laboratory and field research, use and maintenance of facilities and equipment, supervise students, facilitates execution of research projects in aquaculture nutrition, and assists with data acquisition and analysis, grant writing and publications.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Coordinate with Principal Investigator to fulfill project objectives.&nbsp;
Assist with use and maintenance of equipment, hatchery facilities, ponds, and Water Quality laboratory.&nbsp;
Assist other research staff by performing designated procedures and training.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Facilitate research and teaching activities among student employees, graduate students, research assistants, and collaborators.&nbsp;
