Position Summary Description The Alumni Engagement and Giving Officer reports to the SeniorDirector of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving. Qualifications:

DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS 
PILAR: WORKFORCE 
REPORTS TO: REGIONAL WORKFORCE COORDINATOR &amp; CLUB DIRECTOR 
CLASIFICATION (FLSA): PART-TIME 
GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide individualized and/or group English lessons with focus on the oral and written fluency required for the program career fields. 
TASKS AND DETAILED WORK ACTIVITIES

Collaborate in the development of English as a second language skill. 
</li>

Reinforce daily English or Literacy skills in participants with academic lag by promoting activities that integrate the language in real environments and scenarios. 
</li>
</ol>

Develops unit and lesson plans, with goals, objectives, topics and activities for each class session, organizing the appropriate time for a lesson, and presenting the lesson in a logical and sequential manner. 
</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>
Provides individualized, small group, and large group instruction in order to meet the needs of each participant. 
</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>
Engages participants in learning through best teaching practice strategies to achieve positive results. 
</li>
</ol>

<li>
Organize classroom procedures and routines and manage participant behavior. 
</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>
Keeps appropriate records of participant progress, prepares reports, and communicates progress. 
</li>
</ol>

Maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable classroom environment. Carefully explains goals, policies, ground rules, and grading policies at the beginning of the Program.

Performs various non-instructional duties including taking daily attendance, among others.

Monitors participant progress through regular formal and informal assessment.

Requirements 
Education or experience: BA in English Education or related field from and accredited University and 2+ years as an English tutor or teacher, with a strong preference for prior experience in Puerto Rico. TEFL/TESOL certification.
