Position Summary
 
The Transport Coordinator will oversee and optimize the movement and management of animals within the shelter and foster programs, ensuring that animals are efficiently and safely placed in foster homes, adopted, or transferred to appropriate locations to support the organization’s lifesaving goals. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and managing animal transport operations, including inter-shelter and out-of-state transport programs, as well as fostering relationships with partner organizations to expand capacity for animal movement. The Transport Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Director of Foster and Volunteer Programs, the Director of Pet Support, Animal Care, Enrichment, and Behavior Director (and their designees), and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient animal flow, minimizing shelter population density while maximizing the welfare and safety of all animals.

What You Bring

<li>Educational Background: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.</li>
<li>Licensure: Current or eligibility for a North Carolina medical license.</li>
<li>Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.</li>
<li>Experience: Prior outpatient primary care experience is preferred, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients from diverse backgrounds.</li>

Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>
Educate patients on infertility evaluations, medications, treatment protocols and procedures
</li>
<li>
Oversee patients’ cycling process - injection training, consent reviews, medication questions, and answer general process questions throughout the cycle
</li>
<li>
Coordinates patient treatment plans, such as Egg Freezing, IUI, In Vitro Fertilization and Frozen Embryo Transfers
</li>
<li>
Provides patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
</li>
<li>
Ensure all patient information is documented appropriately in our EMR according to our procedures
</li>
<li>
Routine phlebotomy as needed
</li>
<li>
Perform intrauterine inseminations
</li>
<li>
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families
</li>
<li>
Works independently to assure the program goals are achieved
</li>
<li>
Support and promote excellence in customer service
</li>
<li>
Provide feedback to HQ on process improvement and job specifications to help gain efficiencies in your day-to-day
</li>
</ul>
Desired Skills and Experience
<ul>
<li>
3+ years of experience in a fertility practice or Ob/GYN
</li>
<li>
Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Washington, D.C.
</li>
<li>
BLS and ACLS Certification
</li>
<li>
Experienced in EMR and G-Suite
</li>
<li>
Ultrasound experience preferred
</li>
<li>
Strong phlebotomy skills
</li>
<li>
Experience in and a passion for women’s health, fertility is a plus
</li>
<li>
Strong communication skills &amp; a team player
</li>
<li>
Willingness to be flexible and roll with the punches
</li>
<li>
Exemplifies strong customer service skills and professionalism
</li>
<li>
Detail oriented 
</li>
</ul>
