About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY  
Under the direction and supervision of the Clinic Practice Manager, administers medications, implements primary care orders, and evaluates participant complaints physically and/or by telephone/telehealth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Performs the administration of prescribed medications, vaccinations, and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and documents appropriately.</li>
<li>As designated by the Clinic Practice Manager and meeting the requirements within the scope of practice shall withdraw blood from participants as instructed.</li>
<li>Maintains participants’ medical record and fulfills PACE ORGANIZATION charting and reporting requirements.</li>
<li>Observes, records, and reports participant’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.</li>
<li>Triages participants within scope of practice to determine priority of care.</li>
<li>Educates participants and family/caregivers regarding medications and treatment instructions </li>
<li>Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of participants.</li>
<li>Assists other staff in clinic in daily appointments and emergencies. Maintains timely flow of participants.</li>
<li>Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.</li>
<li>Assists in the maintenance of the exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Ensure clinic supplies are on the reorder supply list as appropriate.</li>

Preferably holds a COT Certification. To become a certified ophthalmic technician, you need a high school diploma, complete either an accredited ophthalmic technician program or gain equivalent experience and then pass the Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) exam offered by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). While certification is not always mandatory, it is offered through a training program or on-the-job training, which includes a practical component alongside the written exam. 
Basic Function:
The employee is part of the front office and clinical staff will be required to perform all duties of the front office and clinical area. The employee is responsible for registration including greeting patients, securing and entering accurate data as required, answering the phones, scheduling appointments and routing calls appropriately, processes release of records to patients and to other facilities. Knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy, eye diseases, and common treatment procedures. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety. Duties and Responsibilities:
