An independent, highly selective, coeducational institution ofapproximately 2,700 students, Lafayette College (PA) is seeking aninnovative and accomplished educator to be its next Vice Presidentof the Division of Student Life. The Vice President will join ateam of experienced and committed professionals focused onproviding the best student experience for the College's diverse,creative, and engaged student body.

The Vice President will be responsible for overseeing all areas ofstudent life including health and counseling services, residencelife, student involvement, intercultural development, religiouslife, student advocacy and prevention, student conduct, casemanagement, and the Gateway Career Center. Working directly withNicole F. Hurd, theCollege's 18th President, a passionate advocate for student accessand success, this cabinet-level appointment will afford anunprecedented opportunity for a dynamic leader to provide visionand direction to the student experience at Lafayette College.

The Vice President for Student Life will be an experienced,student-centered, energetic, and innovative leader who shares theCollege's vision of a holistic student learning experience withinwhich access and inclusion are central to achieving the College'smission. Applicants must also possess the vision, integrity,energy, and decisiveness necessary to develop and lead teams andembrace forward-thinking strategies aimed toward creating aresidential learning experience that complements the aspects ofLafayette College that make it unique among other liberal artscolleges in its peer group.

Candidates will ideally possess a Ph.D., Ed.D. or related terminaldegree and have demonstrated 10+ years of increasingly responsibleexperience in student life in higher education, have directexperience building and motivating an effective team, includingdirect experience in recruiting, selecting, supervising, coaching,retaining, and providing growth opportunities for a diverse staff.Candidates will have demonstrated the ability to foster changemanagement and program improvement using methods informed by data,creativity, and innovation, and demonstrated a record of successworking in a highly collegial environment with faculty, staff, andcommunity constituencies. Candidates will be able to articulateknowledge and understanding of how issues of diversity, equity, andinclusion impact students, particularly those from marginalizedcommunities, and how these issues manifest in building community,belonging, and student health and well-being and will have directbudget planning and management experience.
