Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) to drive supplier performance and implement quality management strategies. This role involves overseeing supplier qualification processes, conducting risk assessments, fostering collaboration, and ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier quality assurance, analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Execute agreed-upon strategies for commodity management and supplier quality management (SQM), emphasizing value creation, digitalization, and collaboration.
- Develop and negotiate General Quality and Quality Assurance agreements, ensuring robust contract coverage rates with suppliers.
- Drive supplier performance improvements and support supplier development initiatives.
- Foster collaboration and participate actively in supplier development programs.
- Apply preventive quality methods to minimize risks and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Design, maintain, and improve quality requirements and concepts based on risk assessments for suppliers and products/services.
- Support standardized supplier qualification processes in line with corporate guidelines, ensuring readiness for business engagements.
- Coordinate product/service qualifications and approvals based on specific requirements and specifications
- Actively participate in projects to review and support specifications and requirements.
- Implement and oversee complaints management processes to identify and analyze non-conformances.
- Verify root cause analyses, communicate with suppliers, and support sustainable problem-solving initiatives.
- Plan and execute supplier audits, including follow-up on corrective measures.
- Continuously improve internal SQM processes through innovation, digitalization, and LEAN methodologies.
- Foster virtual interaction and collaboration with suppliers to strengthen partnerships.
- Ensure contributions align with team goals by considering processes and results from other workflows and disciplines.
- Demonstrate advanced analytical and conceptual skills to address issues of varying complexity.
- Provide significant contributions to team results through a self-managed and target-oriented approach.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality management or a related role.
- Strong professional knowledge in supplier quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to apply and expand knowledge in a broader professional context.
- Experience with supplier audits, risk assessments, and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with digital tools, LEAN methodologies, and process innovation is a plus.
