*Securian Financial Groups internal position title is Engineering Sr Analyst.

Position Summary:

This software engineering position places you in the middle of the technology work transforming our Claims experiences for our customers. This hands-on role will participate in implementing our new technology direction to meet existing and new customer expectations. You will work as a member of an agile team collaborating closely with business and enterprise technology partners such as Architecture, Cyber Security, and others.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Perform analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation activities of varying complexity.

Work to solve problems innovatively and with a test and learn mindset.

Support modernization efforts such as leveraging AWS cloud native capabilities.

Develop and maintain platform/team business knowledge.

Ensure effective and favorable relationships are developed and maintained with key stakeholders.

Provide ongoing support for business applications and respond to production needs.

Qualifications:

2+ years of Java Development experience.

Exposure to service-oriented architectures, leveraging Java, JavaScript, Gradle, SQL, and JPA, along with familiarity with YUI and Jquery.

Knowledge in or ability to learn AWS capabilities such as EC2, Serverless, and Lambda.

Exposure to both web applications and backend services.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Collaboration and the ability to work within an agile environment.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related field or guild/bootcamp training or other relevant professional experience.

**This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement.**

Physical job requirements:

Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day

Ability to work at least 40 hours per week

Ability to utilize telephone for up to 8 hours per day

Ability to perform grasping tasks throughout the entire work day (examples: handwriting, grasping of equipment/machines, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, handling stacks of paper)
