This role is designed for a talented marketing professional, who is a self-starter to support marketing initiatives for our employee benefits business. You will collaborate with senior marketers to develop and manage integrated marketing campaigns for large employers and their employees, driving awareness, education, and enrollment of life and voluntary products. You’ll work across teams, tools, and mediums, to deliver marketing to influence employee behavior during the different phases of the product lifecycle - buying, owning, and using. You’ll work on a collaborative, integrated team that is passionate about marketing and cares deeply for the customers and clients served along with their fellow marketer.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Collaborate in the development of marketing collateral for employees of large employers.
Understand and follow marketing plans to implement and execute marketing programs.
Quickly learn tools – Workfront, compliance software, Salesforce Marketing Cloud – for the development and execution of materials.
Use critical thinking to identify marketing tactics and next steps to advance development and implementation of marketing strategies.
Support a book of clients.
Support the delivery of marketing strategies for clients to create awareness, drive enrollment, and engage employees in supplemental health and life products.
Build and maintain strong relationships with fellow marketers as well as account managers to partner on client meetings.
Build and maintain strong relationships with small to mid-size clients to influence and advise on marketing strategies.
Develop product knowledge to understand Securian products and solutions and the benefits they provide.
Learn product details to accurately represent products in marketing and to clients.
Leverage product knowledge, along with marketing acumen to create compelling marketing messaging.
Measure and report on marketing results
Measure marketing and report on key performance indicators and results that align to sales and employee product participation and utilization.
Optimize marketing based on campaign results and learnings, turn data into insights shaping future campaigns and influencing client actions.
Support marketing initiatives aligned to business goals to drive outcomes.
Participate on projects that drive enrollment strategies enabling product cross-sell and upsell.
Assist in initiatives that advance marketing innovation, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Independently manage recurring or small projects.
Qualifications:
Strong customer service and consultative selling skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organization, planning, and prioritization skills to effectively balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of the marketing approaches: segmentation, customer journeys, key messaging and digital communications and campaigns.
Critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter who can assess needs, make independent decisions and determine action plans to deliver impactful results
Ability to learn and understand the mindsets of our target audiences and of the employer benefits industry (i.e., life insurance, supplemental health and financial wellness.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Familiarity with Workfront, Tableau, and/or ability to learn new marketing systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Business or Communications
Two to four years of experience within a Marketing/Communications role
Life insurance products require life insurance licensing within the first six months on the job

If you’re in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you’ll join us 2-3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. When working in our offices at least two days per week isn’t feasible (vacations, illness, travel, etc.), an eight day per month standard is an option
