Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support HRIS and data analytics projects, including system upgrades, software integration, and process improvements that impact the entire agency.
- Act as a liaison between business groups and external vendors, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Collaborate on agency-wide initiatives, providing technical support and expertise to maintain data integrity in HRIS.
- Generate reports, audit data, and ensure all HR and payroll-related transactions are processed accurately and on time.
- Support decision-making through data analysis and report preparation.
- Provide exceptional service to internal stakeholders, addressing data-related queries and requests.
Ideal Candidate's Background Includes:

Ideal Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience analyzing complex issues and supporting administrative, operational, or management functions in HRIS and data analytics environments.
- Experience leading HRIS projects and working with systems like Infor is a plus.
Ideal Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to build collaborative relationships with staff and vendors.
- A knack for multitasking and managing deadlines with ease while keeping an eye on detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - with the ability to present data-driven insights.
- Adept at using common desktop applications (Microsoft Office Suite) and familiar with HRIS systems.
- A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to identify process improvements and drive efficiencies.
Ideal Knowledge:
- Expertise in HRIS management, data analytics, and project management concepts.
- Familiarity with organizational and management practices, and a passion for developing and implementing HR programs, policies, and procedures.
Ideal Training and Education:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
Substitution
Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.
Required License or Certificate
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license. Individuals who do not meet the driver's license requirement due to a disability will be considered for a reasonable accommodation on a case-by-case basis.

Total Rewards & Data Analytics Unit (Position Code 833)
Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite, after completion of the probationary period (one year).
