We’re looking for a full-time, staff Finance Manager, MC Government Operations to join our Day & Zimmermann team. This role will have overall responsibility for month end close process, budget/forecast preparation, and proposal development. The Finance Manager acts as a business partner to the Gov Ops Vice President and operation managers to support business decisions based on financial information and key performance indicators while mitigating risk and improving cost structures which will lead to opportunities to increase profit margins. This role is responsible for oversight of all aspects of government compliance required by work being proposed/executed by the group.

As the Finance Manager, MC Government Operations, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Advisor to Government Market senior business leaders, advising of deviations from Growth and Profit Plan and any significant change in financials or deviation from mission statement, normal scope of work or corporate policy including GAAP. Provides critical financial information and makes actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
- Provides concise, timely, effective analysis and reporting of financial and operating performance. Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the market, office, and line-of-business financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting. Generate value added dash board reports, metrics, and KPI’s for business, client, site, and/ or project as required.
- Directs the financial assessment of all client RFP / RFQ opportunities. Creates and maintains financial models including pro forma pricing to support operations activities, such as but not limited to, client contract bid and proposal analysis and pricing. Develops 'at risk' and other commercial contracting vehicles while assessing and applying known or anticipated terms and conditions.
- Evaluate government compliance requirements (CAS/FAR/DFARS) for all current and proposed work and develop strategies and processes to ensure all are met. Determine long term approach and strategy for MC to pursue government compliant work (externally and internally) and path forward for the group on CAS compliance.
- Manages the administration and maintenance of compliance and Government contract compliance systems and controls, including but not limited to; written standards, policies and procedures, monitoring, and education and training. Provides direction, governance and oversight of all financial activities including the support of DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions and annual external audits.
- Work with Finance member in other D&Z CAS compliant divisions to coordinate efforts and work with government clients.
- Proven knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Planning and Analysis along with a strong Strategic and Operational understanding of higher-level business decision making. Strong knowledge of Government cost accounting standards and FAR provisions is critical.
- Knowledge of accounting for multiple types of projects (lump sum/percent complete, cost plus, T&M, etc) and be able to manage at a high level the overall financial performance for government contracts executed by MC.
- Strong interpersonal skills: The ability to build relationships, a good listener with outstanding interpersonal influencing qualities and a natural, effective consultative style. (Someone who is sought out for their opinions and counsel and who can forge and maintain close relationships across all constituencies.)
- Ability to clearly and consistently get information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing via multiple methods (i.e., presentations to groups both large and small). Demonstrates the ability to influence people and get them to take appropriate action.
- Ability to respond to multiple discipline requirements with financial guidance, recognizing the potential impact on the unit’s results which include the understanding and evaluation of contract terms and conditions.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred, CPA a plus.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience, industry experience required.
- Travel Requirements: ~ 15% - 20%
