The inventory & ERP Business Analyst will support inventory forecasting, purchasing strategy, and data driven insights while also driving ERP related initiatives including system enhancements and process improvements. This hybrid role will collaborate cross-functionally across merchandising, procurement operations, and IT to optimize inventory levels and improve ERP efficiency, especially withing Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central.
Essential Functions
- Analize product movement and sales velocity to identify top-performing and underperforming SKU's
- Develop seasonal forecast and demand plans based on historical data, promotions, and trends
- Monitor stock-to-sales ratios, inventory turnovers, and weeks of supply across categories
- Recommend markdowns, bundles or phase outs for slow-moving and obsolete inventory
- Create and manage open to buy plans that align with budged cycles and long lead times in furniture
ERP Implementation & Optimization
- Lead or support NAV/Business central (NAV/BC) projects withing trade and logistics, manufacturing and warehousing modules
- Drive end to end ERP tasks: Requirement gathering, functional specs, solution design, testing and go live support.
- Collaborate with developers to convert business needs into technical solutions
- Deliver training and ensure end user adoption of new system processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work Closely with internal teams (buying, warehousing, logistics, and finance.) and external vendors
- Analyze inventory KPI's and provide reporting support to strategic decisions
- Participate in merchandise planning, inventory budgeting, and supply chain optimization projects.
Systems & Tools
- Maintain and enhance inventory management tools and ERP configurations
- Utilize Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, lookups, modeling) and report tools like Power BI.
- Recommend enhancements to inventory workflows and integrity, and ERP Reporting.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of combined experience in inventory planning, ERP implementation, or supply chain analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft NAV/Business central, particularly operational modules
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills, especially withing seasonal retail cycles
- Familiarity with RF Scanning workflows, warehouse systems, and inventory KPIs
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, information systems, or related field
- Experience in the furniture, home decor, or retail industry
- Familiarity with open to buy planning and vendor management
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI/ Reporting tools.
