Job Title: Legal Assistant

Location (city, state): Houston, TX

Pay: $$65,000- 90,000


Overview:

A well-established professional services firm is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support a group of attorneys within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of administrative, organizational, and legal support functions across multiple practice areas.

Required Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting professionals in a law firm or similar environment
  • Ability to manage complex administrative workflows independently

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with legal billing platforms (Aderant or similar systems preferred)
  • Typing speed of 70+ WPM
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially in proofreading legal documents
  • Knowledge of county and state court systems and e-filing procedures
  • Ability to stay organized and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize digital and paper-based correspondence and legal documents
  • Manage scheduling, coordinate meetings, and arrange travel and reimbursements
  • Handle phones, conference calls, and internal/external communications
  • Draft legal documents, prepare electronic closing binders, and assist with private offering documentation
  • Submit filings to Secretary of State and research entity name availability
  • Monitor CLE course attendance and track attorney credit hours
  • Support pre-bill and invoice preparation and review
  • Collaborate across teams and assist various attorneys and practice groups as needed
  • Contribute to administrative functions such as conference room reservations, document processing coordination, and occasional delivery needs
