Weekend CNC Machinist (Friday-Sunday)

The CNC Machinist will work alongside a team of Project Managers, Industrial Designers, Engineers, Machinists, and Product Fabricators to deliver exceptional designs, prototypes, and products. This position supports the production of parts and assemblies for industries including medical, aerospace, industrial, and consumer markets.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Competence with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling and CNC turning (Haas and DMG Mori/Siemens Control preferred).
• CAM programming, setup/fixture design, and run (Mastercam preferred).
• Perform CMM inspection, quality control, and related documentation.
• Source necessary tooling and materials to complete jobs.
• Communicate manufacturing improvements and optimization to engineering.
• Evaluate prototypes and designs for refinement through assembly and testing.
• Directly contribute to solutions provided to customers.

Supervision Received

• Reports to Shop Lead.
• Weekly shop meetings to review project status.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Ability to meet work deadlines and track time and materials purchased.
• Strong communication skills with supervisors and engineers.
• Signed employment and confidentiality agreement and background check required.
• Ability to stand and work in a fabrication shop.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Education:

• Trade school or associate’s degree in a technical field.

Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in machine programming and setup.
• Proficient knowledge of CAM.
• Understanding of machining technologies, principles, and procedures.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and hands-on experience.
• Ability to work independently.
