Job DescriptionFast-growing logistics company has an immediate opening for an experienced, detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our team and support our financial operations, which include inventory management for a wholesale distributor. We are seeking a personable team member with a rigorous work ethic and high degree of attention to detail; the type of person who takes great pride in his/her work and is unwilling to compromise on quality. This position is in-person in Woodbury CT.
Key responsibilities include:
•\tMaintain accurate financial records, including recording day-to-day financial transactions in accounting software and reconciling bank and credit card statements
•\tManage accounts payable and receivable
•\tPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
•\tCreate and track client invoices
•\tAssist with budgeting and forecasting
•\tWork with external accountants during audits and/or tax season
•\tMaintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation
•\tHelp track and maintain a fairly dynamic, constantly evolving inventory (both in accounting software, by setting up new product items) and in Extensiv (our dedicated inventory management software)
Required qualifications:
•\tProven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
•\tProficiency in QuickBooks accounting software
•\tSolid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
•\tHigh attention to detail and accuracy
•\tStrong organizational and time-management skills
•\tAbility to work independently and maintain confidentiality
•\tReliable team player who can produce quality work with quick turnaround
•\tMaintain the highest degree of professional standards and professional conduct
•\tExcellent facility with Microsoft Word and Excel
•\tAssociate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Preference given for:
•\tExperience with inventory-intensive companies
•\tKnowledge of tax regulations and reporting
