About Jerusalem Peacebuilders
Jerusalem Peacebuilders (JPB) is an interfaith, non-profit organization providing peace and leadership educational programs for Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Druze students and teachers. These programs bring together students and teachers from Jerusalem, Israel, Palestine, and the United States to develop the confidence, skills, and relationships needed to become future leaders for peace.
For students in grades 9 – 12, JPB operates regular in-school leadership and communications programs in classrooms across Texas and the Holy Lands. Each two-week program is led by JPB staff with a goal of fostering leadership and peacebuilding skills through a proprietorial curriculum which includes dialogue, service projects, and experiential learning.
JPB's Interfaith Youth Houston (IYH) program provides American Jewish, Christian, and Muslim High Schoolers in the Houston area with regular interfaith and leadership programming during the school year.
JPB's teacher-training program, EXCEL, provides Israeli Jewish and Arab high school educators with the language and intercultural training to integrate peacebuilding and youth leadership curriculum in their classrooms. These year-round programs meet on-line and in Jerusalem, Nazareth, Cambridge University, and Northern Ireland. This multi-stage program is accredited by the Israeli Ministry of Education and conducted in partnership with Retorika for Multiculturalism (Israel) and Oranim Academic College of Education (Israel).
JPB also offers teaching and educational travel for adults. Educational travel programs typically go to Jerusalem, Israel, West Bank, Jordan, and Malta.
