Job Summary

Dermatology at MidTowne is a fast-paced medical office where teamwork and the ability to adapt in ever-changing situations are expected. The ideal candidate for this position is a friendly, outgoing member of the team who has a positive infectious personality. Clear effective communication is a cornerstone of this position requiring the balance of assertiveness delivered in a polite respectful tone when necessary. The qualified candidate must bring a level of excellence, medical knowledge, and compassion while delivering a level of professionalism that promotes confidence in the experience from the initial patient call through the end of every office visit. All interactions with our patients should solidify trust in the relationships we establish with our patients and our community.

Job duties and functions

• Answering phone calls, creating appointments, directing the calls as required.
• Managing incoming/outgoing medical records and referrals.
• Answering emails, faxes and other electronic messages as required.
• Communication with clinical and provider staff.
• Maintaining a filing system for all patient documents and reports submitted.
• Processing patient payments and balancing end-of-day financials.
• Manage paperwork process for patient flow.
• Greeting patients visiting the facility, answering any questions they may have and helping them fill out required forms.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Skilled in using IPADs and desktop computers and willingness to learn EMR.
  • Ability to listen, read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction.
  • Basic financial skills associated with processing and balancing payments.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance coverage, or the ability to learn.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees, physicians, patients and managers.
  • An excellent understanding of the flow and processes of the clinical practice

Education and certification requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

1+ year of experience in a medical setting preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, sitting, walking, and leaning. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
