Marsh Oaks Independent Living is a Multi-Unit Housing with Services (MUHAS) community in Durham, North Carolina, providing supportive housing and personal-care services for older adults. We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and loyal Personal Care Assistants (PCA) or Nurse Aides I/II to join our care team.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including supervised bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support

• Document and promptly report any changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to the supervising nurse or administrator

• Support residents’ daily routines, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry

• Provide companionship and encourage participation in meaningful daily activities that promote independence, dignity, and engagement

• Follow individualized service and care plans while maintaining a safe, respectful, and sanitary environment

• Participate in ongoing staff training and annual competency reviews in accordance with MUHAS standards

Training & Certification

We offer training and certification opportunities for individuals seeking to become Certified Personal Care Assistants (PCA) through the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS).

Training is provided by our certified instructor with PRN Nurse Solutions PLLC.
Upon completion of an interview and successful background check, PCAs who require certification will receive on-the-job training to complete the state-required 80-hour combined classroom and clinical program before full employment.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Certification, North Carolina Nurse Aide I or II certification, or eligibility for PCA training and certification

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (we offer CPR/First-Aid Training for Certification)

• Must pass background and drug screening

• Must be patient, dependable, and compassionate — and know how to take your time with residents

Compensation & Schedule

• Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time/PRN

• Pay Rate: Starting at $12.50–$13.00 per hour

• Pay Frequency: Weekly via W-2 payroll

• Day and night shifts available
