About the organization:

Center for AdoptionSupport and Education (C.A.S.E.) is a national leader in mentalhealth services for the adoption and foster care community with thecore mission to improve the lives of children who have been adoptedor in foster care and their families through counseling, lifelongeducation, and a growing national network of trainedprofessionals. 

For over 25 years, C.A.S.E. has been combining best practicesand innovation to provide specialized individual and familytherapy, psychiatric services and support groups and have become alocal, national, and international resource for adoptive, kinshipand foster families and the professionals who support them. C.A.S.Eset out in 2021 on a new strategic direction to grow CASE’s clinical and trainingprograms into a National Teaching Clinic and Knowledge Center. Itis an exciting time as CASE grows its evidenced-based adoptioncompetent clinical model into a National Demonstration and TeachingClinic and continues to expand its adoption competent trainingprograms across the country.

C.A.S.E has an annual budget of $7.5 million and a staff of 55employees.

About the Position:

This position is ideal for a dynamic, results-driven, andwell-organized development professional that is ready for aleadership role as C.A.S.E. expands its work nation-wide. TheDirector of Leadership Giving will have a significant impact on theorganization’s next phase of growth.

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Leadership Giving, is akey member of the organization’s leadership and will lead theCenter for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) individualgiving efforts. They will have a portfolio of 100 to 120 prospects,targeting five- and six-figure prospects. The Director ofLeadership Giving is responsible for planning and implementingstrategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, andstewardship of individual donors to support C.A.S.E. They willfocus on strategically expanding the organization's IndividualGiving program with a goal of significantly increasing the base ofannual gifts and multiyear commitments.

This is a full-time, exempt hybrid position.  On-site two(2) days per week, Burtonsville, MD, office.  

Note: May require evening hours. Must occasionally attendspecific agency functions in the evening and/or onweekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Secure major gifts at the five- and six-figure levels.
  • Manage an existing portfolio of 100 to 150 donors andprospects.
  • Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors andprospects, including C.A.S.E.’s donor database and wealth screeningtools.
  • Work with the Development department to align efforts and setgoals.
  • Create and implement moves management plans.
  • Make direct, face-to-face solicitations and work withorganizational leadership and program staff to developindividualized donor strategies; support the overall efforts of theDevelopment team.
  • Acknowledge major donors through public and privaterecognition.
  • Track and report progress using specific metrics.
  • Works in close partnership with the Senior Director ofMarketing and Communications on external relations and fundraisingstrategies.
  • Manages signature fundraising events in partnership withMarketing and Communications and outside consultants.
  • Liaison to the Board Development Committee and its work.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attends and actively participates a variety of internal and/orexternal meetings, committees and/or events which may not be jobrelated, but are related to the agency’s clients, mission, and/orits employees, such as but not limited to, All Staff Meetings,Board Meetings, Development Committee Meetings, DepartmentalMeetings, Employee annual and or ad-hoc benefits meetings, agencygalas, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • At least seven years of relevant work experience, including atleast five years of front-line fundraising and working withindividual donors.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated success managing a portfolio of individual donorsat the five- and six-figure levels.
  • Demonstrated work experience and donor contacts inmission-aligned areas.
  • Ability to develop and initiate new strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to work effectively withdiverse constituencies and effectively develop relationships thatenhance overall development goals.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage projectssimultaneously.
  • Skilled at articulating compelling cases for leadership giftssupport.
  • Ability to use data and CRM systems to set fundraising strategyand priorities, measure outcomes, and drive superiorperformance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, mediation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of ateam.

Salary & Benefits:

Salary:             95 – 100K
