Job DescriptionA Day in the Life of a Bronchoscopy Program Coord

The Bronchoscopy Program Coordinator is a hybrid position that blends advanced diagnostic coordination with patient care in bronchoscopy and respiratory therapy. This position manages the Pulmonary Nodule Program, supports interventional pulmonology, and performs both therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Here is What You Will Be Doing:

  • Coordinates all aspects of the Pulmonary Nodule Program, including patient education, scheduling, and follow-up.
  • Manages the nodule registry using approved Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated care coordination software.
  • Supports Galaxy Navigational Bronchoscopy and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) procedures.
  • Collaborates with Radiology to ensure acquisition of fine-cut CT scans compatible with navigation software.
  • Assists the Pulmonologist in the Interventional Bronchoscopy suite.
  • Works in collaboration with Endoscopy Tech and RN circulator.
  • Performs all assigned therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician including those on the pediatric floor. Acts as a backup for the performance of EKGs.
  • Performs arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling by direct puncture or arterial line. Analyzes ABG and co-oximetry results and makes educated oxygenation and ventilation decisions.
  • Performs quality control, proficiency testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of blood gas analyzers.
  • Assists in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts and/or other emergencies that utilize respiratory care procedures for patient care.
  • Performs Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) and Electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures according to policy.
  • Ensures accurate test administration and documentation in compliance with department protocols.
  • Accommodates patient complications in Bronchoscopy Suite.

Here is What You Need:

  • Current Wyoming Respiratory Therapy License from the Wyoming State Board for Respiratory Care
  • Two (2) or more years of critical care experience
  • Two (2) or more years of Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) lab experience
  • Fourteen (14) Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date
  • Six (6) Months: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within (6) months of start date

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience using AI nodule tracking software
  • Experience with navigational bronchoscopy or pulmonary nodule workflows
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist
  • Rocky Mountain Tobacco Treatment Specialist
