The Director of Nursing/Clinic Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the smooth and effective daily operation of the Dialysis Facility in order to maintain a safe, efficient environment to provide optimum patient care. The Clinic Manager is also responsible to provide a teaching environment in which training and education of the patient is provided in order that he/she may carry out all necessary hemodialysis, CAPD, or CCPD functions in his/her home along with acute dialysis.
The position is responsible for quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff development, business management, teamwork, culture and employee satisfaction within a dialysis unit.
The position is responsible for understanding, supporting, interpreting and implementing the philosophy and policies of the corporation.
Assure the direction of assigned areas in accordance and compliance with standards outlined in the facility procedure manuals, as well as regulations set forth by the company, state and federal agencies.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Demonstrates applicable knowledge of policies and procedures related to clinical Director, Coordinator/RN job descriptions.
- Coordinates and supervises patient care and daily operations of the dialysis facility.
- Provides leadership, direction and encouragement to staff to develop professional standards.
- Responsible for budgetary preparation, justification and performance. Manages staffing mix and patient scheduling to optimize patient outcomes and labor expense control.
- Performs additional duties, and is responsible for specific projects according to ability and experience to keep the unit functioning as efficiently as possible.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current active RN state license.(IN license preferred as well, or willingness to obtain)
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Baccalaureate degree in nursing or health related field preferred).
- Minimum of 1 years experience in general nursing care plus a minimum of six months of dialysis experience and if for a home training center 3 months of which in a specific dialysis self-training activity as applicable.
- Prior supervisory and/or management experience required.
- Certification in Nephrology Nursing preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of water systems, bypass, and emergency water system procedures preferred.
- ICU/CCU experience desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and general management skills.
- Successful completion of training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance when using automobile to travel for business purposes, ability to travel.
- Computer knowledge preferred.
- Demonstrates reliability, good work habits, and emotional maturity.
- Maintenance of current CPR Healthcare Recognition according to the American Heart Association.
- Maintains a telephone and able to be contacted at home outside of normal business operations.
- Possesses reliable transportation.
