Day to day:
Insight Global is looking for a bilingual Medical Assistant to join a multi-specialty (primary care, dermatology, urology, podiatry, GI) clinic for a large healthcare provider in Fullerton, CA. A new primary care provider will be joining the team at the end of July, and we’re currently seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support this physician. This role will primarily serve a Medicare and geriatric patient population, with a strong focus on managing chronic conditions such as diabetes. This practice serves a large Spanish-speaking patient population, and the majority of our providers and staff are bilingual in Spanish to ensure culturally competent care.
The clinic’s mission is centered on proactive, preventative care—especially for patients at high risk of hospitalization. As a Medical Assistant in this practice, you’ll play a key role in patient engagement, including regular follow-ups between visits, appointment scheduling, outreach, and building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Rooming patients, taking vitals, placing orders, and providing discharge instructions
- Explaining medications and handling patient calls and inbox tasks
- Preparing charts and reviewing hospital records
- Making 10–20 weekly outreach calls (based on provider schedule)
You’ll work 1:1 with a provider and be part of a supportive team that includes front office staff, call center associates, MAs, LVNs, and providers. They currently use AllScripts EMR system and will transition to Epic in the upcoming months—training will be provided.
Must Haves:
- 1-2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Medical Assistant diploma or certification
- High School diploma or GED
- BLS Certification (can be from anywhere)
- Bilingual Spanish and English
- Strong understanding of preventative care
Plusses:
- Experience working with Epic EMR system
- Experience working within specialty departments (dermatology, urology, GI, podiatry)
- Experience working in a managed care organization – has an understanding of quality measurements and high risk coding
- Experience dealing with follow up care for hospital admissions
- Experience with lab draws and filing paperwork
Location: Fullerton, CA 92833
Schedule: M-F 8-5
Duration: 6 month contract with the potential to extend or get hired perm
Interview process: One and done interview on-site, manager has flexibility to interview virtually if needed. Potential for a second round if needed.
Pay: $21-$23/hour
