Summary:

In this role, you'll be responsible for providing pharmacy services, including, but not limited to dispensing and preparing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, compliance audits, and financial transactions, providing customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records. You’ll work as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team, and under direction of the staff pharmacist(s) and the department manager; This role is designed to utilize and extend knowledge and competency while performing technical pharmacy functions of the Clinic Pharmacy.

Typical Schedule:

Rotating day shifts. One Saturday every 4-5 weeks. Clinic Pharmacy hours: M-Th 8am to 7pm, Fri 8am to 5pm, Sat 8:30am to 2pm

Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age
  • Minimum education: High school diploma/GED
  • Licensed or pursing licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Wisconsin
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience, National Certified Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities Include:

This position will process prescription drug orders in the pharmacy computer system, assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies, and complete sales of prescriptions and over the counter products at the register. They will also assist in obtaining refill authorizations from prescribers, triage and problem-solve insurance claim rejections, and help with maintaining inventory of medications and other supplies. This position will also have the opportunity to work in the hospital pharmacy, assisting with technician and pharmacy buyer related activities.

  • Takes ongoing ownership for service, quality, and organization for one area of the pharmacy department as directed by manager.
