Job Title: Engineering Technician IV – Product Engineering Support
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 2 Years (Possible Extension)
Location: Coffeyville, KS 67337
Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Minimal overtime expected
Job Description
Major Purpose:
- Develops and evaluates new technologies/methods to maintain a competitive edge.
- Plans and executes validation/verification engineering work for components or entire projects.
- Handles problem identification, resolution, corrective actions, reliability analysis, and test planning.
Major Duties
- Analyze new ideas or designs and determine test procedures.
- Interpret test data and create reports for internal use.
- Develop new test procedures and determine operational loads.
- Coordinate and support lab/field tests.
- Create verification/validation plans for production qualification.
- Present product improvement recommendations.
- Participate in design reviews and cross-functional problem-solving.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with engineering principles, processes, and company tools.
- Knowledge of product validation/testing methodologies.
- Awareness of competitor machinery and internal engineering processes (EPDP, ETDP, ECAP).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Agricultural Sciences OR Equivalent work experience
Work Experience
- 4–7 years in engineering
- Product design, testing, analysis
- Experience in drivetrain, hydraulics, electronics, or similar specializations
- Proficiency in engineering tools and databases
- Capable of managing large projects simultaneously
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and troubleshoot drivetrain components for testing
- Collaborate with engineers on test systems involving engines, transmissions, axles, Dynos
- Work on the shop floor 85% of the time; team-focused environment
Required Experience
- Strong understanding of drivetrain systems
- Hands-on experience assembling drivetrain components
- 2+ years working with heavy equipment/vehicles
- Ability to multitask and adapt to priorities
Desired Experience
- Familiarity with CAN communication codes (engines, after-treatment, drivetrain)
- Experience with electrical control circuits for test equipment

- Steel-toe (metatarsal) protection required from Day 1

- May operate a Deere Gator after training
